This will sound kind of weird...

... But, even though there are a lot of things I wish I could do but can't do because I'm visually impaired, there is one thing I am grateful for: earlier we were attending a little party, and all around us was crisps and cakes... And for me it was a blessing that I could not see them, as I was less tempted and actually had nothing at all. I know for a fact that if I had seen them, I would have been tempted. Yes people asked me if I wanted something, even told me what there was, but I was not tempted. Same goes when I go shopping... In a way, my disability is a blessing as I can't see the sweets and biscuit aisles... Lol
 
Great you feel this way, is your sense of smell not heightened? I have heard if you lose one sense the others "compensate"

Not really, it's usually the hearing and the Feeling, in a tactile sense, that is heightened, not so much smell and taste. Thank goodness for that actually, or I would be in trouble, lol
