UCLH Criteria for funding

Some have said bmi over 50 but sleep apnea and diabetes will be a big factor as well..!! :-(

I had my sleeve 2 weeks ago at the uclh and my bmi was only 40 and sailed through bec my parents are diabetic.

Nice are the standard guidelines. Not all PCT's follow them as they are more generous meaning more qualify. My mother being diabetic had no effect on my funding.

Oh ok- I wasn't actually given any guidelines I was referred by gp and had appointments with nurse dietician and surgeon. I suppose the uclh must have a large budget for wls

You aren't given guidelines it's what they use. You can usually google your pct and find them.

my pct were bmi over 50 with medical problems and nice guidelines

The Nice guidelines say BMI over 40 or over 35 if you have other co-morbidities, sadly not all PCT's follow the guidelines, with Scotland often quoting over 60. but then they get all their prescriptions for free so they have to expect to loose out somewhere along the way.
