These I took today when I managed to walk into town. Well pleased with myself as it's 4.6 miles. Took what seemed like forever but it was such a beautiful day. :)

Very nice wish I could walk that far. I haven't been out for 4 years tho so a mile here and there is progress for me.

well done :)

Fab pics its been drizzly here, well done on the walk xx

Brilliant ! I am down the road at brid and have worked up to walking 4 miles a day, it still makes my joints ache but it is an absolute joy ! I am pleased for you well done, Bempton cliff walk next for me ! it is worth it , the pain will ease with more movement I am sure.

I have been to Bempton with my children when they were small and will always have fond memories.

We visit Brid pretty often as my grandchildren live there and it's my husbands favourite place.

Good to here there is someone close to where I live as I was beginning to think I was the only one this part of the country.

Are you post or pre op? I'm still waiting for mine and hope that they will tell me at my next visit if I'm accepted or not, July seems such a long way off but I'm walking or at least trying to so that I can meet the mandatory weight loss.

Wow cupid another fantastic walk achieved hunni wd :) I was unable to walk far for alot of years and pre op last summer could manage 3k on a very good day, it hurt like hell and the day after i would be legs up in bed, but i did it. Now almost 7 weeks post op im walking 5 miles a day, and i'm for any reason i don't hit the 5 miles, im on the walking machine before bed stepping it out. The photos are amazing doesn't it make your heart sing just being out in nature :) wd done for doing it gal, it will put you in great stead for the op ...... oh just to let ya know, i still walk slow and with my stick, the pain still gets me if i'm up or downhill, but can go much longer without breaks BUT it gets better daily! !! Was thinking about doing a walk/step thread for some added motivation, but loving the pics :) x x x x

I am post op and sold everything I could to fund the surgery had it in end of oct 2013 at spire hull, my joints were caving in ! I was 55 and did not just meet the criteria for nhs funding, it is life changing for me it has been life changing in a very positive way ! it is not an easy ride but I would do it all again tomorrow with no hesitation the positives far out weigh the odd negative bit.
You are doing everything required and it is good to know there is someone close by who understands where I was and am in my journey, very pleased to see your progress x

So glad you went ahead and did the right thing for you. It awe fun that you didn't meet the criteria though as life is complicated enough. Yes I definitely feel better knowing there is someone else near to me as I was feeling quite isolated. Finding this site has made a huge difference to me too and has helped ease a lot of anxiety for me. Will defo keep an Eye out for your posts thanks for the reply. :)

the people here are very helpful and any problems its good to know they have been there and understand ! this site has made a huge difference to me as well x

Didn't get to go for a walk today as was far too cold for me.

I rang the dietitian today though as I needed answers that I couldn't find on here. I asked if I would have to go through funding because it as well as my next stage hadn't been discussed with me.

Turns out I don't need to worry about funding because it was my doctor that sorted all this out for me so that's a huge load off my mind and I won't have too long to wait if I have lost my weight by next appointment in July as I have already done my tests ect.

Next trip for me is back to doctors as my Thyroids are playing up badly and I don't want this making me put on even more weight. I really wish I could go back to my specialist because seems like all my docs want to do is blood tests all the time and to be honest most of my problems wouldn't exist if I had been tested 8 urs ago because he reckons that's how long I have suffered for without meds. So they listen in the morning or I ask for hospital appointment.

No point going through all this change if it's all going to be undone again. :(

Ok update on doctors....have to have all bloods done because they have no results from my last 2 sets done in October and December even though both times I have rung in and been told they were normal (quite surprising as mine haven't been normal since I was diagnosed with Hashimoto Disease ) when I have asked why the answer is unknown so another week to go before I find out.

On a positive note I have lost just over 2kg since 2wk ago so only another 5 to go....oh my sounds such a lot today :/

congrats on the loss well on the way to target good luck

wow 2 kilos is good well done you. I haven't been walking as my wonderful hubby has given me his virus !!! such a generous chappy !! grrrrrr bet I don't lose much this week,
keep your chin up july will be here in no time and with funding etc all in place you only have to wait a little while x
