Am thinking of having the staple bypass after it was very successful for my friend a yr ago. She has lost over 7 stone and did not appear to have any problem.Sme people are trying to put me off so was hoping if you have had it what you advice would be.

The decision is yours, no one can make it for you.!!
Everyone says to me 'u look great as you are',
but i feel unhappy with the way i look and have been for a while.
It is a life changing thing, surgery, dont go into it lightly!
The dietitians and surgeon will go into detail with you, but as ppl have said on here - there is always someone to ask on Minimins, who has been there and got the
I, myself, am waiting for surgery and i have had more advise from ppl on here than i have been told from the hospital.
Little things like habits after surgery.
No doubt we'll see u around, pop in and say hi.

Do you mean the gastric bypass? ITs sometimes called "stomach stapling" but are different ops i think.

Dont listen to people who are telling you whether to have it or not, at the end of the day you are going to have to live with this desicion and will have to live with it for the rest of your life.

Hi and a huge welcome to Mini's. Everyone is entityled to heir opinion and you are entitled to just b****y well ignore negative comments!

I do agree it has to be YOUR decision with the experience and advise of medical staff. Having said that I had a bypass 3 weeks ago after years of ups and downs and am so pleased to have the opportunity. I never went in to it lightly (pardon the pun) but knew it was right for me and if that is what you decide good luck. If you decide against, it will be YOUR decision and we will all still wish you good luck with whichever programme you choose.

Hi and welcome to minis. Again i agree it has to be your decision, i think most of us on here have all experienced negative attitudes from all sorts of sources with regards to our decision to have wls. I had a bypass 6 weeks ago and am so so pleased i did. Good Luck with your journey x
