I've done what I promised myself I wouldn't do anymore and weighed myself! I appear not to have lost any weight!!! I'm so cross!! I know rationally that its possible but I can't accept it!! I've been so grateful for how lucky I've been to have has the op and to feel so well, but this is so upsetting!!

If your anything like me I blow up like a balloon regularly at this time of year due to the weather.

I weighed myself today and have GAINED weight!

The rational part of me does realise that it is fluid retention due to the weather and time of the month.

Your weight will be going down, unfortunately the scales truly aren't our friend and lie to us all the time.

Thanks Julie! I know I shouldn't weigh myself but just wanted to see a smaller number :+(

You've only been bypassed for a short time, your body will be in 'starvation mode'. This means every item of food is being stored as your body adjusts to the lower calorie intake. It will get used to it eventually and the weight will come off. Try upping your protein levels and remember to keep your fluids up. In the grand scheme of things, you've only just started. You're running a marathon, not a sprint.

I put on 7-10lbs in the 1st weeks! I stored fluid like my hot water tank. It's normal and it will go, a week or two later and I'd lost that and then some. Just focus and it will all fall into place.

Thanks all. My op was three weeks ago this coming Tuesday. I'm just frustrated! Thanks again x

I'm pre op so probably shouldn't but 3 weeks is no time at all to adjust... you're doing so well with the eating etc...throw those scales away!!!!

Good luck I'm sure all will be fine once your body has gotten over the shock of surgery etc..:)

Honestly you need to stop worrying about this. Look at my stats. There was one week I only lost 1lb but it all balanced out over the next few weeks and I've lost almost 4 stone now and was only operated on 19th May.
