I remember going to the doctors and even if i went with earache my weight would always come into it somewhere.
I have developed a big lump in my thigh. It has come up overnight and is about 3 inches long and 2 inches wide.
So... I go the the doc who says it may be a fatty lump... tut tut tut... it's cos you have lost weight so quickly and shakes his head in a very disapproving way.
So, as i say, can you ever win?

No true I used to smoke and if I went to the doc's with a carbuncle it was because I smoked. You should have asked him to change the record! Hope the lump goes away soon if not ask for a second opinion.

Doctors blamed everything on smoking and being obese, I packed in smoking getting on for 3yrs ago and Im now loosing weight so I wonder what they will blame all my ailments on now XX

maybe if they cant blame it on smoking, or weight, you might actually get a proper answer from them, there again, they might think of something else, like, well you breathe!!

I know just how you feel. Whenever I goto the doctor it seems that he thinks theres nothing wrong with me other than the obvious - I'm fat! I spent years begging to be diagnosed with thyroid disease as every single women in my Dad's family has it but no no, all the symptoms were just due to my weight. Then finally, after 10 years I get diagnosed, not just with thyroid disease but with autoimmune thyroid disease. Which explains why I've felt like rubbish all this time because my immune system has been attacking itself. But then to add insult to injury they can't treat autoimmune disease - fabulous! Oh sorry, I went off on a little rant for a second there. In short, I agree and hope you manage to get the lump sorted out x

Even a vet once did this years ago. I took my dog in with a serious limp and swelling on her paw and was told "well she is over weight" yes by 2 pound It took 3 more visits and a different vet to find out she had a massive grass seed embedded in her paw. One small cut with a scalpel and out popped the seed and the dog never had any more problems

Oh yeah, now they will blame everything on my age lol....we really cant win Poor dog with a grass seed embedded, pleased to hear he is ok now XX
