who in the first few weeks following surgery has eaten something they should not of done, what was it and what happened??.....xx

Darn it I don't have enough hands for the amount of things I had too early!

I had macaroni cheese, mashed potato, cheese strippers, chunky soups, all within one week post op. I didn't do handle the liquid stage very well! Kinda missed the puree stage too :giggle: but I did stay on mushy solids for a long time.

I was lucky, I was fine and have not found anything that causes me problems :D

I just had some mash which is fine but I added a (frozen) roast beef in gravy kind of blended but not enough and thought I was going to die....lol....never again.....I just find it hard to blend small amounts as it does not cover the blades on my blender and I dont want to do lots as running out of space in freezer and fridge and then if I make something and I dont like it I seem to have tons left, this has to be the hardest part of all....wish I could sleep for the next 2 weeks.....xx

i had 1 bite of pizza after my band i payed the price and wretched for ages.

I had a bite of a hot dog about 1 week post op, was sick after but more flemmy than sick ( sorry for the insight lol ) and to b honest it wasn`t stomach wrenching sick just sort of a cough. Sorry this doesn`t make sense but I know what I mean lol

I thought I would be the only one lol....cant believe you have all done it made me feel better...mine was a pain like a really horrible throbing stitch. Had to sick up twice to get rid and stop it going down, obviosuly my pouch is swollen and it would not let the meat pass, I have to say it was very fine beef but I wont do it again..did not know if I should lie down stand up whatever...I can laugh now but had visions of being choked to death via my stomach on the bathroom floor and my son stepping over to use the loo....lol...xx

I had that kind of pain a couple of times, but it wasn't what I'd eaten, more the way I'd eaten it. If I don't take small (tiny) bites and chew thoroughly I get pain like that.

:busted:WE NEVER LEARN DO WE GIRLS ? EVEN AFTER SURGERY WE STILL PUT NAWTY THINGS IN OUR MOUTHS !!:giggle:

OH THAT SOUNDS RUDE LOL

YOU ALL KNOW WHAT I MEAN ?
DONT YA .
HEHE

I am wondering if I am taking too much in at once because no matter what it is it twinges in my side and with it being part mush I guess I am not chewing it enough (old habits die hard). I had some porridge this morning and whilst I never get that full feeling I stop eating after a few spoonfuls because my side twinges....I do hope it will resolve if I eat slower and chew as I am beginning to think I might have damaged something...xx

Had myself a slice of french toast three weeks post op, thought i was going to die lol, had same experiance as you lots of retching, then been sick then a horrible nagging pain for the rest of the day! I know we all push it, old habits die hard!

Have to say since taking the time to eat slowly and chew (even though its pureed) I have had no twinges of pain in my side...its a really hard habit to break though and I have to concentrate lol...struggling to find something to drink that I like, had some warm milk last night and even though it was semi skimmed it tasted sweet to me and I could not finish it. I have been and bought some smoothies but to be honest whilst I will drink them they are not my idea of something nice to drink, think I will be a water convert within the month....xx

Guilty as charged!!! I've had TWO chunks of chedder cheese - not at the same time I might add. I LOVE Cathedral City Chedder. I nibbled it and smushed it up completely in my mouth and it was LURVELY.

I had some cockles before chewed and chewed them before swollowing and there was no problems, I love cockles and really took my time with them, before surgery I would of had them gone in two seconds....xx

Hi Linda,

It was through fear, not being good! LOL But to think of it, I was on toast and things like that 4 days after my op, so kinda didnt have to live on liquid like some. I did not have any appetite either for ages, so just ate what I needed to keep me going! Not got a sweet tooth, don't like cheese or meat...I'm very boring........ Still love diet coke though:D Bad I know....my only sin!!

Take care,

Kel xxxx

We all need a little something and I think I could be doing a lot worse. Fear is a good way of keeping you grounded after bypass...lol...not a lover of fizzy drinks so dont think I will miss diet coke, bought some lovely pineapple juice with a twist of lime in it, nice and refreshing as I am struggling to get fluids that I like...would go nice with a vodka in it lol.....(but I wont)....xx

i had some crisps they were yummy but boy they made me feel ill!!!!
