Hi everyone. I'm pre op with everything crossed but my eyes. I started this journey last year and already had some ups and downs. I have my appointment tomorrow to meet the specialist (consultant) and feeling more than nervous that he's going to say no don't bother and if he does I will be absolutely heartbroken. Already started finding my way around this site so praying it helps me.

I'm a newbie and just joined today but loving the site already. I have to go up North to meet the surgeon for the first time tomorrow. Been to seminar and met the team (except consultant) and they are so nice. Had tests done and turned out I have sleep apnea so was given a CPAP but got to say it helped me so much. Even seen psychologist and she was happy to pass me back to the team so fingers crossed for that one. Was given a target of 7kg to lose from sept and had to postpone an appointment. Haven't lost the weight and have in fact put on 2st up to Christmas and now dreading they will kick me out so very very nervous on the plus side I started eating 3 meals a day on Boxing Day and still trying my best to stick to it but it's sure hard to go from one a day to 3 after at least 10yrs of it. I'm disabled and also Hashimoto so can't exercise although I try. Please wish me luck because I don't know anybody local and the hospital is 55 miles from where I am so I'm out on my own.

Bigbrian are you up for Bradford support group?

I'm nt really good at chatting in groups lol I'm shy

Well so am I but that's why we should be going and preparing for our new lives! You don't have to chat and if you don't like it you don't have to go again. Apparently the dietitians and surgeons also attend so a good opportunity to get some questions answered :)

Hi bigbrian no not got any support groups here as I'm in Scarborough area and we don't have anything like it. Seems everyone here expects you to be a size 12 or your out on a limb. :(

Oh no Cupid, I think anywhere that offers bariatric surgery should have some kind of support available. It's not just about being thin ( stitch up your stomach and vwalla ) hope you can find support on here, if you have any general questions about surgey/diet ext I could try ask when I go to this group.. x
