Hey,
Well i stumbled across this website after googleing my surgeon and i must say that this is great.
I've read a few threads and its been really helpful and now im so sure im making the right decission about WLS.:)

I've always been big and tried over the years to lose weight with diets and gym etc but i've never been sucessfull so this is the last option!

Im right at the begining of my journey (18-24 months waiting list!?), i met the surgeon 11 days ago and now got appointment with specialist nurse on the 9th Feb.
Im not sure what to expect from the appointment but i'd like to learn more about the process, what appointments, tests etc have i got to look forward too??
x

Hi lovey and welcome to the site x

Hi and :welcome: to WLS.........It all depends on what surgery you are having and where. All the areas are different, some places are pretty quick but no all unfortunately. Im in Manchester and waited almost 2 yrs from start to finish :D XX

Welcome Vicki.. Am not a pro.. But i think depending on ur consultation and what operation they recommend... there is someone on the forum who has experience something similar.. Have a read through of the threads..
Hope everything goes well for you...xx

Wow, i know if needs be i'll wait. i have to, its just so near yet so far sort of thing i guess.

I've been asking my gp for ages to refer me but she kept saying i wouldnt get funding but she finally caved before x mas (thank god) i could bevieve it when i got the appointment to see surgeon in Jan then the spec nurse in a couple of weeks.
Im under mr el-hasani, i went to see him at king college (london)and he said i'd be best to have a bypass. The nurse appointment is for princess royal (orpoington) not sure why theres a change in hospitals but i'll ask them im sure.
I know a couple of people who had their surgery at kings and they've all said the waiting isn't that long so i've got my fat sausage fingers crossed lol.

Does anyone what happens at the specialist nurse appointment?
x

Welcome Vicki ! I'm under Mr El Hasani too and had my op in May last year at Farnborough. You'll like Star when you see her on 9 Feb, she's lovely. I'm due to see her for my next checkup on the 14th. Don't be afraid to ask us absolutely anything - there's no such thing as a silly question here ! xx
