How long is the gastric bypass op?

Hi, just wondered how long the op is. I've read lots of different timescales i know evey ops different but just wanted a rough idea

I think it is 2-4 hours depending on if it is open or keyhole. Also if you have other things going on like hernia repair it can take longer. I think mine was about 2 hours and then about an hour in recovery. But every case is different, as is every surgeon!

Not sure about mine but I went down at 9am and came back on the ward at 2pm not sure how long I was in recovery

hi my op was supposed to be 2 hrs but had a few complications and ended up being on the table for nearly 7
