hi guys have just read todays daily mail and there was a very intresting article regarding weight loss and how to maintain all your good work...to sumerise ...the so called fat experts are saying that to maintain your weight loss an average person would have to eat 300 cal fewer a day than another person of the same weight who had not dieted..quite intresting dont you think

hahah i had to laugh at that one...lol iam not very good at explaning myself but ill try, currentley the recomended cals per day for a woman are 2000 and for a man 2500 but the experts are saying that the reason so many people who have lostsignificant weight struggle to keep it off is because we need fewer cals than a person who weighs the same as you but didnt diet to get to that weight ie say you got to goal weight of 10 stone and your good friend who has always been slim weighed the same 10 stone as you....you would have to eat 300 cals a day less than her to stay at that weight, not fair is it but kind of makes you think that they could be onto something :D:D:D

It's obvious. When you diet you will lose a percentage of your lean body mass not just fat, so although you could weigh the same as your fit friend, they will have a lower body fat percentage so will use more calories fueling them. Their metabolism will also be higher because of their increased musculature.

So unless you perform resistance exercises to increase your muscle size, and cardio exercise to burn off your fat stores, you will need less calories to maintain the same weight as a naturally thin person of the same weight
