Gastric Balloon My gastric balloon journey starting 25/9/12

Hi
It's two weeks today since I got the balloon and I just weighed myself I've lost 17 pounds :)
I am a bit worried though seeing you have said no fizzy drinks my nurse never said no fizzy drinks actually she said if you have fatty food that will stick to the balloon and smell having a fizzy drink will wash it off :s
I'm going to give her a call and check this later.

I started 18,3 and am now 17st so I'm a lot heavier then you that's prob why I have lost more, they said the same to me about lighter people loosing less so you're still doing great!!!
What do you have in a day? I'd love to know what others have so I can see if I'm doing this right.
Well done so far :D

Ah ok lol yeah my doctor told me that too!

I walk my daughter to playschool and pick her up, 15min each way so about an hrs walk a day, 30min on Xbox kinect so far, tues and wed night I work do usually don't do exercise as constantly walking around shop for 6hrs! So am being active! Am asking for a fill as I only got 300/350 x

Sent from my iPhone using WLSurgery

i had a gastric balloon this time last month, been asking for a fill as never got full fill of 450 i had 300 as i live far away and it was better to see if my body would not reject the balloon once i was fine, to ring up and book in a fill, all week ive been ringing them and theyve tokd me they'll ring back, well today a woman rang back and said all staff have been made redundant and hospital has closed theyve gone bust.

im so upset and dont know what to do, paid 2500 cash 2400 finance with them!

i just want to cry as what happens with my support, fills, dietcian, removal now!?

I'm so sorry to hear this has happened to you!! Ive no idea what to day to help but maybe try a citizens advice bureau?

I am so sorry to hear this news, you must be so worried. I agree with pixie try seeing the CAB. In situations like this surely the NHS can backup!??? Can you see your GP for advice? Hope it gets sorted for you soon x

Oh I don't know what to say!!! I would go to your gp first and explain they should be able to help...have you got any paperwork signed from the hospital ? Keep it all safe. Good luck hope everything gets sorted

OMG just read this poor you. I would google and see if there is an ombudsman or cosmetic surgery regulatory board who can help you? Also if they have gone bankrupt there will be a company employed to payback creditors so it is worth finding out who this is to see if they can give advice. My Dad used to work for CAB definitely a good call to ring them. I know you said you are miles away from the hospital but I bet the surgeon will probably do NHS work as well as private, so if you have his/her name find where they work and see if they have a conscience and will do another endoscopy to make the balloon bigger? Good luck I really hope it works out. xx

Also if you paid finance with them - you might well be off the hook if they have gone bust - so def worth checking that out too? x

having it done in Sydney! I am English, only one place does it here in Australia, it has only just been approved and the surgeon I am going to is pioneering Spatz as he used the obera, 6 month balloon on himself and had terrible side effects!

spatz balloons still haven't arrived so no surgery date yet! and I have broken my foot so can't exercise so put on 4 kilo's - oh great just what I need!

maybe try these guys
