Oops forgot to say..... My referral was by my specialist (I have a thing called sarcoidosis) and not thru my GP, does the fact I got appointment to see bariatric nurse mean I automatically got funding/didn't require funding?

Awe thank you all for the warm welcome, this is the 2nd time i tried replying - i think i did something wrong. I am in the Bexley area. I will spend some time reading this forum and get to know your journeys so far and start picking your brains. One question i do have is... I was referred by my specialist (i have a thing called sarcoidosis) and not by my GP, does the fact that i have an appointment with the bariatric nurse mean i have bypassed the funding bit, or is that fight still to come? thanks again all

I think I've grasped it now lol. Thank you all for the warm welcome. I am in the Bexley area. I shall spend some time reading the threads then bombard you with my questions x but can I just ask.... I got referred by my specialist and not my GP (I have something called sarcoidosis) so does the fact I have an appointment with bariatric nurse mean I have bypassed the funding part or will I still have that fight to come?
Thanks again to you all

Hi all, every attempt to reply has vanished without trace. so i am trying again...
Thank you all for the warm welcome, I am in the Bexley area.
I shall have a thorough read of the threads and get an idea of it all before bombarding you all with questions LOL
But may i just ask......
I got refered to Chelsea & Westminster bariatrics by my lung specialist ( i have something called Sarcoidosis) so my GP was not involved, does this mean that i might have bypassed the funding fight?
Thank you all again for taking the trouble to welcome me

Looks like you got a Gremlin - can see your posts now ;)

Hmm, interesting question - not sure if that means you have funding - Im sure someone will come along and throw some light on it....

Hi all, every attempt to reply has vanished without trace.

As you are new sometimes post may go into a queue to be authorised my the mod/admin team.

Once over 50 posts everything will settle down.

Hi no sorry does not mean you automatically get funding :(

Oops sorry for the duplicate posts. Tartanlady, thank you for reply. At what stage does funding come into it?

Not sure, in my situation i met with the bariatric team who put me on a plan for 2 years. At the time I started they said I was a perfect candidate for funding, then the pct changed the criteria half way through and i got turned down again and again, and 3 years later I've decided to fund myself! Ask them everything you can about whether this qualifies you for funding, I think everywhere is different, but don't get disheartened or be afraid to keep pestering them, It is your right!!! hopefully you may only take a few months to qualify. I really hope all goes well for you xxx
