Newly post op? Post your daily food intake here

I also have an enormous sense of well being, knowing that I won't get any bigger anymore. And, get this, my periods came back today for 1st time in 3 years...I didn't have them due to polycystic ovary syndrome..which is alleviated or cured by loosing weight. Win win!

This post is so useful! Thank you x

What is clear soup? Can you have cupasoup?

Just what I was looking for!
I'm 6 days post op and was doing well with fluid intake on days 2/3/4 when it was tea, milk, NAS squash & clear soups. I've been struggling the last couple of days.
I've been struggling taking my soluble meds it takes me ages and I dont feel much like "eating" for a while after. I've been having

Around 9am-ish 2-4floz NAS squash with 3floz dissolved calcium tab, 1 fast tab, 10ml milpar.
8floz slimfast/ flavoured milk for breakfast and 1 and half-2hours later
12-2pm-ish 8floz of flavoured soups either cream of or one with bits in sieved so just the liquid.
about an hour later I was trying 6floz activia pouring yoghurt thinned with milk but, this has been making me feel a bit queasy and funny rumblings going on so dont know if this drink is allowed lol.
6-7pm-ish same meds as morning. An hour later 8floz of another soup
9-10pm-ish 8floz milk - flavoured or plain.
I've been sipping water here and there probably a couple of oz.

Anyone got any idea is this is along the right lines?

This is a great thread for us newbies to this post op malarkey.
Im 3 and a half week post op and am now on pureed food! My biggest struggle at the moment is that i dont feel like eating at all and really have to force myself to eat and drink ( I never thought i'd say that!)
Yesterday i had:
B: WW yogurt 120g 56kcal and 6g protein
S: 200 mls milk 100 kcal and 7g protein
L: Home made yellow split pea soup with lean bacon and thyme 70g 80kcal and 5g protein
S: Laughing cow light cheese triangle 25kcals and 2g protein, 200mls prune juice 150 kcals and 1g protein
D: Tesco reduced fat houmous 70g 175kcals and 6g protein
S: Atkins advantage shake 151kcals and 15g protein
additional fluids 600mls NAS squash and 600mls weak tea
Total: 737 kcals and 42g protein

Quick question, my provider wants me to aim for at least 1.5l of fluid (but closer to 2.5l if pos) can i count the milk, atkins shake and prune juice as well as the tea and squash or should this be in addition?

was wondering if anyone can tell me if they had simlar experience to me in the initial days post op?? i had my gastric band fitted 09/10/12 (Tuesday this week) and so i am 3 days post op. the first 2 days i was on fluids only and it has hurt whenever i drink. Hiya Hun I was banded Sunday and have been fine with slim fasts an soups the pain in your chest sounds like wind its the most horrible pain but it gets better each day just have what you can and keep up with fluids xx

I'm so glad I found this thread!!

I'm 1 day post op. A real newbie!
I have no wind pain just bruising and a terrible sore throat.

My diet so far has been about a glass of juice a tin of soup and a smooth yogurt all day. Is this enough? If anyone has a daily diary for the first 2 weeks liquid diet with times that would be great :) I'd love to put alarms in my phone to remind me to eat.
I have also been taking dissolvable paracetamol every 4hrs for the bruising pain. Is there anything else I could take?
Thanks everyone xx

You have done so well, very good result. I am 6 months post Sleeve and I haven't been loosing weight that much, have lost just over 3 stones 22kg and it's quite frustrating. Am trying so hard to figure where am going wrong as I have not been eating carbs been on mostly protein but the weight has been difficult to shift so yeah you are doing just fantastic. I should be taking tips from you.

Fage and skyr do nice high protein yoghurts, the fage are creamy and delicious, worth a go
