With only a week left of October I thought it about time we start a November thread :)
My op is the 12th November at Taunton.
I've had my pre-op and met with everyone, so everything is okay and ready for the 12th :)

Hi there, my op is next Friday, 1 November, and Nuffield Brentwood. Got my pre-op tests on Monday. The 600 cal pre-op diet is brutal and I am really struggling!! Good luck to everyone xxx

My GB op is scheduled for 19th November. I don't have to start pre-op diet until one week beforehand, but I'm trying to at least slow down my eating in preparation. All quite nerve wracking!

Hi out there. I'm Maggy, a revisioner. I'll tell you my tale a bit later but I wanted to start a thread for those who have surgery dates in November 2016. Not sure if this is the right place but I'm hoping the moderators can put us right if not.

So far there are three surgeries in November that I know of:

2 November - Want2b3
8 November - Iwannabeslimagain
17 November - Maggy

Please add your dates if you want to

Good luck everyone!
Maggy xx

I'm first up then...no pressure then lol! Thanks for starting this thread Maggy we can hopefully have group hugs. I am glad it is before Xmas as my first Xmas not putting on more weight (I hope) and spending too much on food. Just gutted I won't be ready for clothes in January sales.

A week today I will be sleeved, feel totally unready in a practical sense as homework and revision with my boy comes first. I think the time is going to fly!! Nearly 3 weeks ago starting LRD thought I had plenty of time! I have spent most spare minutes in shops buying food lol! Not for me well not all of it but for my mum and boy. Don't know how long I won't be able to drive/lift shopping for so got 2 months food in except fresh stuff will do that Monday for one week then online shopping.

Ok, first of all lest move this thread, first thread only in 'introduce yourself here' please. Then I'll make it a sticky post, so that it jumps to the top of the list - that is while you keep posting on it ;)

back from tough chemistry revision (for me anyhow) and just reread...food is still in my thought processes as that is all I just wrote about...have to think of new things to talk about?? But I will be facing this fremeny head on in a weeks time! So Maggy do you have any tips as you are having a 2nd sleeve!? how was the journey for you the first time? Your current weight is dream for me at the moment.

I have bought:
New nightgown light and long.
3 new pairs of PJs size 28 that are now too big, hope trousers don't fall down, can't change them as catologue purchase and would not get 24 in time...what a waste of money!
New slippers
Loads of mini size toiletries to reduce weight
New bath wrap

Felt like buying for going on hols lol! It will be my second time away from my boy ever as single mum. I am worried as he has ASD and has exams that week too. So will want to be home same day but going in 1st and coming home 5th. So longest time away. Frighten obviously of what if I die etc but that is starring me in the face with Sleep Apnoea, borderline diabetic asthma and health failing not being mid 40s yet! Can't do boy things with him like football, rides and would love to go swimming with him when slimmer. All things I have not done since he was very little. I need to be their for him as long as possible and really need this to help me become healthy to then help him/be around longer when he needs me when older.
So just getting through it will be most important for me as pain is not an issue as emotional pain I have had is far worse and I can cope with dieting it is the needing help when I hit emotional problems which are often in my situation.

My date was originally the 4th then last week it got cancelled due to consultant issues, so only got my confirmation of the 8th yesterday afternoon so started 2 weeks of LRD today, and all I can currently think of us food, lol!! But we sound very similar in our thoughts, im petrified of dying and leaving my kids, theyre 11,12 and 20 so not babies, but I never leave them overnight, I do have a partner, but still theyre 'my' babies and my youngest is very clingy since we lost my mum 2 years ago so I feel so guilty putting them through this, but if it means im around for 20/30 extra years its a risk I need to take x

So much to say in response to questions but I'll keep it short and hopefully have some time tomorrow to post.

Totally get the single mum thing with your young man Want2b3. I brought up my son on my own for most of his life. He's nearly 30 now and getting married soon. Can't believe where the time goes. But they survive. And so do we. Hi JakkiD, good to have you here! Like you and Want2b3 I want those extra years with my kids (son plus two steps now). And it IS worth it. And so are we. It's why I'm prepared to do it all again.

Yep we are going through same thing and same thoughts keep me going re being here 20/30 yrs longer. My boy is 12 also but going to mp need me into adulthood so I need to be well.
Have you told your kids? How did they feel? I have not told my boy his anxiety levels are high at best of times this would cause total regression as he only has me. I didn't realize till today that food was in my thoughts constantly by what I was writing. Use this site to let it out and read to get motivation from others. I hope I can help you being couple days ahead. The LRD isn't too bad it is when it stops is keeping it off. Just try and remember the smaller the liver the more help it is to the surgeon, for me this crucial as I have had fatty liver disease for over 10 years and hope it is small enough. I have a low carb diet to follow so easier than the milk diet which I think I would hate as hate milk on its own but it wasn't an option. My portion sizes have been large...big plate of salad or veg with meat etc so still in big plate mode which isn't grate but lost 2 stone in just under 3 weeks which I am stunned tbh. If only I could do this and then keep it off I would not need this op! It's an emotional roller coaster but this place fab! X

Ive told my 20 yr old and my 12 yr old, but not my 11 yr old, she knows im having an operation on my tummy at some point because ive had so many appointments etc but not the date as she would fret so much, Im normally so honest with them all about everything but she really worries me, though to be fair Im probably worrying more than I should, curse of being a mum eh!! Im doing the milk diet as I was given the option and thought itd be easier than thinking about food too much, but Ill see how the next few days go and may alternate, today may be a struggle as theres 16 of us going to the zoo, planned for a while, 'picnic' packed, but at least the walking will do me good x

I was driving in week 3 short distances - it felt a bit sore when doing sharp steers, and last week (in week 6) i did a 180 mile round trip with no side effects other than tiredness, so you shouldn't be off the road too long @Want2b3. Was able to unpack my shopping after 4 weeks and other lifting was fine after 6 weeks, and have spent a fortune on clothes which keep getting too big very quickly, so don't rule out those January sales. :)

Mornin all, no 2 (8th November) reporting for duty!! I'm up for group hugs too. So inspiring reading all your messages and concerns, and reasons for wanting this so badly. Good luck fellow soon-to-be's. Thanks Maggy for all the information and for starting this thread and I really hope the surgery is more successful for you second time around - Im sure it will be. Maybe you just picked the wrong surgeon last time, and although Im sure he was very good maybe he didnt specialise in this field?? Hi Want2b3 youre first off the starting block! Welcome JakkiD - you and me running joint second so far! Its really good to have a few people all having surgery at the same time! Cant wait to get this behind me! Have a good day everyone,

Morning I wannab. Like the virtual group hugs...keeps us bonded. I thought it was going to go slow but by the time you work out what you need and go round all the shops it flies. I could do with another week tbh to sort stuff out. Thankfully it is half term to have some time but with revision all day And going away weekend before op it is total crazy! Your time will fly honest. Do you need to do LRD if BMI is lower? Wish my BMI was lower going in for op re risk reduced. But at least it ins nearer 40 than 50 now. Off to do physics and biology now...I learn more than my boy lol. Catch up in study breaks x

Hi ladies. I also have surgery booked for November and am going to Brno to be sleeved. I decided two years ago that I wanted this operation as ive spent years yoyo dieting, I did manage to lose 4 stone at one point but inevitably put it back on plus a few pounds extra !!! I have never been able to maintain any weight loss so I feel this is my only hope. Its taken me two years to save for the surgery, in that time ive done my research and feel confident that its the right thing to do. I am terrified of the surgery though and can barely let myself think about it, not the actual operation just that something will go wrong. Now im crying AGAIN. Anyway im glad I found this site and have loved reading the success stories. GOOD LUCK for your surgeries
