please help!

im going on a team christmas dinner at Prezzos, here's the menu....

what can i have???

Prezzo

I'd have this POLLO AI FUNGHI but there is plenty to choose from including salads

This will be the first time I've eaten out since the operation.

I'm still so nervous about how other people make food/whats put in it lol.

Meant to be trying to find a three course meal ... eeeek

I'd not bother with 3 courses, I'm a year out and wouldn't/couldn't manage 3 courses, I'd just have the main meal even now I'd still leave over half of it :D

yeah im gonna have a chat with the person who's organising it all and tell her i wont be having the three courses. the only thing i was thinking was maybe a soup for starters.

i think ill stick to a safe salad?

Yes I'd have that chicken dish and have the salad not the fries and ask for the salad to come without dressing, or for the dressing to be on the side so you control what you have, its a minefield eating out isn't luckily all my meals out have been with my O/H and I say to him, ohhhhh try this and shove half a chicken breast onto his plate so it looks live I've eaten far more than I really have :D

Yeah, I went out for dinner on holiday but I was with my best mates so felt very comfortable... this is with work, and I've only been on the team for 3 weeks so not very confident around them yet!

Thanks for your help :)

Personally if its a one off, I'd have a bit of everything, but ask them to box up as they go along.

Think i'm just gonna go for a lasagne...

thanks again everyone.

i love this site! :) x

I normally go to my works do Christmas swanky do cost £15 a head and its a beautiful 3 course meal with free drinks and dancing after but as it will be only 3 months after my op I was going to say no,why pay £15 for a meal that I can only eat 1 course off and then only eat a portion of? but I may change my mind and see if I can maybe take home what I don't eat ,I will ask them

You could still go for the socialising aspect and just to have good time with people you work? :) who cares how much you can eat? Just go to enjoy the dancing? :) unless you do hate the people and their company ;) So then not worth going :)

Chicken ceaser salad with no dressing... that's me sorted!

Los, I agree with Llora, still go and socialise, even if you have to tell them you're not eating. That's what I'm doing on another of my work Xmas nights out.

I had to host a 3 course dinner for clients at work last night and I just had a couple of spoons of soup for starters, half a cod filet for mains and one spoon of meringue for dessert. No-one commented on how much I left untouched, I just made sure I kept chatting and didn't draw attention to it! I think if you act like it's totally normal for you to leave most of your food and aren't self conscious then people are too polite to enquire or too busy stuffing themselves to notice!

Enjoy your dinner. X

Your all right, I gyess I had a bit of a wobble thinking about the amount of food and drink I wouldn't be able to eat but your all right about spending time with my mates and the venue is well swanky in a golf course venue in essex, sweeping stair case silver waiting service live band a truly stunning venue......what shall I wear!!!
Thank you all for clearing my foggy moment

the fish cakes look good, nice and soft and I agree with every one else. I went for a "last meal" before the operation with a friend who had surgery six years ago. She had salmon and managed about half of it. She joined in with the conversation and we had a lovely evening. I did ask her at the end of the meal if she found it hard watching the rest of us eat a three course dinner and she said she felt as full as if she had a three course meal.
Hope you have a lovely time.
