Its contract temping so i am starting monday not going to mention my op untill 2 weeks b4 and at least i can get 6/7 weeks money has everyone worked through the milk diet or taken time off.
Also any diabetics how did you cope with milk.
thanks all

I think its the beginning of a new chapter for you and thats why it happened that way! Will you have been temping long enough to generate sick pay?

Congrats on the job hun xx

Terri is quite right, a friend of mine had her gastric bypass last thursday and she wasnt allowed the milk diet because of her diabetis, therefore I think she had to opt for either a low fat low sugar, or 1,000 cals per day. G.M
At my hospital diabetics are normally given a different pre op diet as the milk only diet cand effect the blood sugar levels so speak to your team and ask them. x x x

Im diabetic and was fine on the milk diet. my blood sugar dropped from 19 to within the normal range so I dont have to take my metformin anymore :)

i am type 1 diabetic and i had the milk diet, i managed it very well just adjusted my insulin according to blood sugars i was not offered any other diet. i also worked whilst on the milk diet with no probs. It does depend on the hospital surgeon and team as to which liver reducing diet is their preference but if you are having probs speak to your team and diabetic nurse specialist as to what you should do. xxx
