So spoke to the dietician, and it says in my 'guidelines' that i can have spaghetti bolognese, cook the spaghetti until really soft etc..

Have to say, prob too soon as I am now in a huge amount of pain!! it's like it's stuck in my wind pipe and hurts to do anything..any tips to help shift it??
:( :(

Thanks xx

Ohh no mad dietician !!! pasta at this early stage no wonder your in pain, i used to eat it as a bander with out the pasta and that was just right, pasta is 1 of the most difficult things for a bander to eat, i hope the pain passes soon x

oh no really??? that might be why I'm having trouble..finding it difficult not to drink anything..wondering if a pepper mint tea to help?

Still got half an hour before I can drink anything anyway!!

Thank you though..I shall continue to avoid! x

a warm drink may help, but if the pasta has swollen and caused a blockage then that may make u vomit, hope fully it will pass normally.

30 mins should give it time to pass/settle down.

when the dietician said spag bol they would of meant the boll part with out the pasta they should of explained this better to you x

Are you sure your dietitian said you can eat spaghetti bolognaise or just bolognaise?

Pasta and rice noodles are really hard for me .. so I'm with Liz on this.

I hope you managed to clear the blockage/pain some how. Take it easy (lemon squeezy).

Dietitians should really be more descriptive. I agree with that. Here I've been for 2 days in the hospital because my nutritionist forgot to explain that when she said meatball it was supposed to be pureed, even though I'm no longer on pureed. Oh well the blockage is gone, and hopefully I go home tonight.
I truly hope you feel better. I know how horrible it feels to eat something that doesn't agree with you.

Hugs Dee xoxoxo. :) :) :) Sent from my iPad using WLSurgery

Oh dear, hope it clears soon x

I dont touch pasta or rice as I was told from day 1 to avoid them post op, too scared to try them for this very reason.

Thanks guys it cleared after a while but felt quite full and uncomfortable when I went to bed..

Both dietician and booklet for post op soft foods said spaghetti would be fine just make sure it's soft..def won't be trying that one again!

Have to say though, have just had some of the Bolognese sauce with some mash for lunch at work and all seems to be fine :)

Thanks all..Dee hope you feel better soon!

Xx

Oh dear - I went on my 1st outing last night to watch Black Swan and missed your trials and tribulations! Glad to hear you are feeling better now though you poor thing - take it easy xx

What did you think of Black Swan ??? X

Extremely bizarre watching - I couldn't work out whether it was a thriller, gory horror or soft porn hehe - it kept me intrigued though.... very strange going to the cinema and only sipping a bottle of water whilst everyone around me munched on popcorn and nachos! xx

I loved it! I was completely mesmerised lol.....when I go to the cinema I take a packet of ryvita minis salt and vingar or a bag of rice cakes, a few nuts and even a tangerine :D it stops me feeling deprived ;) XX

Mesmerised is a good description - I was too! Mmmm rice cakes, I will remember that when I am a little further down the line - still on fluids at the mo :) xx

well i downloaded it  haha

I thought the black/white theme down to the tiniest detail was brilliant but it was all a bit bizarre and a little predictable..loved seeing mila kunis in a role like that though i love her, think she's fab! did enjoy it though and would def watch again! :D
