Our lovely Allie has been poorly and has to go into hospital to have her gallbladder out. She is just waiting on word from the doctors as she has to be transferred from the islands to the mainland.

I know lots of folk on here know Allie well but since her move further north she isn't online as much so just wanted to let you know.

I'll update you as soon as I hear anything.

Hi Everyone
Thank you so much for your lovely wishes. I got out of the Western Isles hospital last night after a week's stay. They can't do anymore for me as I need the specialist in Raigmore hospital Inverness. The problem lies in the fact that I have a stone in my common bile duct, which under normal circumstances would mean a flight to the mainland, a camera with suction put down my throat and into my stomach to suck out the stone then keyhole removal of my gallbladder. Now comes the complication, due to my bypass my anatomy will not physically let the camera go into my stomach so unless they can think of something, it will mean open surgery, cutting the bile duct, removing the stone then the gallbladder and inserting a drain. It will mean a 7 to 10 day stay in hospital which will be difficult as I'll be leaving Katie (my 15 year old) at home and i'll be on my own too but needs must i guess. They reckon I should here within the next two to three days. Sorry I have not been around much, life apart from this has been emotionally difficult and I am struggling but thank you so much for your lovely wishes they mean a lot xxx
Ann thank you so much for starting this thread for me xxx

oh good luck allie xxx

Hope you get better soon, Allie ... beautiful part of the world to live in but guess this is the price to pay with having to travel long distances to medical help. Hope you sort this out & are not separated from your daughter too long xxx :)
