Well i've finally got my appointment to see Carly Smith tomorrow and hopefull a surgery date not to long after!! exciting stuff. Any advice about Carly smith and what to and not to say etc??? xxxx

Just be yourself precious, Carly is truly lovely, she's interested in your reasons for gaining and maintaining your weight.

I loved my little chat with her... really nice lady.

thanks Bev. I think you always expect the worse after such a long wait. Ive read on other posts people have been given their date on the same day was that the same for you?

Bless you and please don't worry at all, it was a pleasure to sit and have a little chat, very informal...

She can call the Secretary, Gill, to confirm that she accepts you as being suitable for surgery... but I didn't get my date until months later... after a pre op assessment etc... so she may call Gill and then take it from there.

Please let me know how it goes and good luck, it's a great journey for sure!

Carly is a lovely lady as Bev said. I was dreading my visit but I was so pleased when I left her office. We had a very informal chat and basically I think the main concern is that you understand the bypass and what it can and cant do for you. She rang the secretary whilst I was still there as she said I was an ideal candidate for bypass and I was placed on the list that day XX

well i went to see Carly smith today and you were right what a lovely lady!! Well the good news is shes agreed my surgery!! yeyy!! So all i have to do now is wait for my appointment. As i had a pre op on new years eve do i need to have another one? Thank you for your advice ladies it was very helpful.xxxx

Not sure if you will have to have another pre-op, I cant remember how long before my op mine was but Im sure it was quite a while.....Im really pleased for you that she approved your surgery XX

I spoke to Gill today and she said that Mr Ammoris dates for surgery are around middle to end of June BUT i can go on the pool list and can have it done in April!! so shes just going to book me a mini pre op again and then give me a definate date!! so it should be long now!! i so pleased its finally coming to an end. Thank you for all your support, ive felt a right pesterer but you are all brilliant and a good support to all of us xxxx
