clothes sizes and weight

i keep saying i wanna be a size 12 but aint got a clue what weight i would have to be to get there i know everyone is differant but what is the weight of a size 12 person ruffly does anyone know!!!!

I would say anywhere between 9-11 stone depending on build and height x

lol im only asking so i know how much weight i have to lose before id be a size 12 im a size 18-20 now and weight 17st2lb so think ill need 5 more stone off to be anywhere near a size 12 !!!

i dont think you can say what weight and height you need to be...this is why different sizes vary in so many different shops.....

id set a closer goal and youll be able to judge it better the closer that target comes

Firstly it depends if you mean size 12 top or skirt/trousers. That will depend on your general body shape. I am small and narrow on top and now my tummy has mostly melted away I can fit into most size 12s.

However, sizes vary hugely from shop to shop. It seems to be that the more pricey the clothes the more generous the sizes. My River Island dress (photo of me in it WILL follow I promise, once I can get someone to take a pic) is a teeny tiny size 14, and even my very slim daughter who tried the dress on, said she couldn't have taken a 12 in that dress. Whereas size 12s in M&S and other more upmarket labels are more generous.

Hi, I am 5.6 and weigh 13st I wear size 14 top and bottom and if I buy marks stretch jeans they are a 12 . When I got down to 11.4 ( many years ago ! ) I was a 10/12 but I was riding my horse alot so I was very toned . I have lost 7 stone since my bypass and only have slightly loose skin on my upper inside thigh , arms are fine and a small overhang apron but I think this is more to do with the scar I have not the weightloss. I have kept my bust although it's alot smaller but at least it's still there !

Hi, I'm 5'4" and weigh 11st 12lbs - I take 14-16 tops and 12-14 bottoms, depending on where I buy them from. Bought a pair of size 12 jeans in Sainsburys and didn't try them on. When I got home and took them out of the bag they looked so small I thought that I must have picked up an 8 or 10 by mistake! They were def a 12 but I thought then that there was no way they'd go above my knees - but what the heck, I'd try them - and guess what? They only fitted!!!!!! Still a bit on the tight side, but it must be 30 years since I got into a size 12!

A bonus to smaller clothes is that you need a smaller suitcase! Just packed for a few days away and for the first time ever my suitcase is lighter than my husband's - way to go!

I'm 5'4" and fit into sizes 10/12 mainly 10's & weigh 11st 10lbs I've another 31lbs to go to my target. I have the bingo wings, saggy thighs & overhanging tum to it depends on the style, cut & quality of the clothes for the fit. But I'm working on toning what I can although am realistic that it won't work on it all but worth a good shot.

Hey it's sooo different for everyone I was 12stone and was in size 12 trousers and 16/18 top.. When I loose my weight I'll have a breast reduction too so hopefully will even me out a bit lol. I would love to be a size 12 all over! Xx

I'm 12.8 and 5f 5inch I'm a size 16 top and bottom, but I have bought leggings for the first time just because I was having to buy pants in a smaller size every other week, it was getting a bit expensive so hope to be able to wear these for a while even if I go down in size lol. I know from pre baby that I will not get into a size 12 until I'm in the 10 stone range. It just goes to show everyones different and carries their weight differently unfortunately most of mine is on my arse hahaha. X

I am 5' 4" and 11st 2 and need a 14/16 top and could not get into a 12 bottom, but most 14's now fit.

Just shows you it is not only down to your height, but also your build. I hope to be in a 12 by the time I lose the last 10lb but at the end of the day a 14 costs the same as a 12 so I won't be too worried as will still consider I am 'normal'!

I don't know what size I want to be just know I need more weight off so will see how far my body will go down I am 5ft 61/2 exercise regularly I weigh 16 stone 9 now and I can get 20/22 top mainly 22 bottom the odd 18 top just depends where from it does depend on your shape and how your body is proportioned everyone isn't low wasted or high wasted or has big hips n slim waist every one varies I'm, amazed at how they can claim these standard sizes when a lot of different women out there strugglin gto get something thats a perfect fit, we all need a personal dress maker me thinks??

My aim is a size 12 and I think that will be around 11 stone.
But I think it also depends on your height someone 5ft at 11 stone and someone 5ft 6 ins same weight but would have a completely different shape so I will just see when I get there x
