I'M HAVING A REALLY BAD DAY

Lisa J

CRYSTAL PALACE FC!
Hi everyone
i'm 2 wks and 1 day post-op and so far ive felt fine but today i feel really down, im fed up with liquids there starting to make me feel sick at just the thought of them, i know ive been really lucky to have this op and i dont want to sound ungrateful but all i keep thinking of is sitting in the garden with a nice spag bol and garlic bread! Have other people experienced this or is it just me :(

Lisa i'm right there with you!
i was told i should do a 4 week liquid diet... but if i could only manage 3 weeks, i could move onto sloppy food then... and i have to tell you... i cant wait!

I know how you feel, sometimes its a case of forcing myself to have yet another bowl of soup.. or another yogurt.

But it isn't forever... and its not long till the mushy stage, and even then thats only for 2 weeks!!!

Keep your chin up... im right there with you.
Have you lost any weight yet?

.x.

I have just been to my local Tesco to see what other interesting flavours of soup they have and have got some pea and ham, wild muchroom and cauliflower cheese just to vary the taste tried some minestronie soup earlier and it was vile. So I fully understand but it will soon pass and then you can start on the puree stages

It must be hard lisa I am pre op but can understand as I did the lighter life diet for 3months just chicken soup as didnt like any of the other stuff....yuck....and I have got 6weeks milk diet to look forward to when I go back to hospital for 2nd appt. and thats as well as the pre op liver shrinker diet boo hoo, and it will got right through my hols. However we are just going to have to head down and get on with it, and you can tell yourself that mash spuds and gravy is just around the corner. Cheer up little friend and hope you feel better soon. The one nice thing about this group is you know you have lots of others doing the same thing right now.

Love Jay xx

glad it's not just me!!!

bypassbee: ive lost 2 stone in 4wks including pre-op diet so really pleased with that, trying to only weigh myself once a week. i was told to do 4wk liquid which makes it that ive got to do another 2 then 4 wks of puree food so abit different from yours. im off to see the dietician tomorrow so if i ask nicely she may let me do 3 wks like you or go onto puree food now, i can only ask! i havent felt or had any sickness whatsoever but i do have this awful taste in my mouth all the time which tastes like ive licked an old 2p coin! wish it would go!

Yeah my start weight was 19st 9 (i think) and ive lost almost 2 stone since i started my pre op diet on the 1st of may so its pretty good... ive not lost much over the past few days, i think my body might have gone into starvation as id been a bit ill and not ate much a few days ago, but im sure it will get back on track :)
variety is important i think.. have you tried slim a soup by cup a soup, the medateranien one is quite nice!
