Thanks Joffy for posting the link to one if the sites that spend much time and effort researching and debunking these urban myths and legends. Another useful site to check such information is the Sophos one.
My recommendation to anyone which is sent this type of information via email (as it usually is) is to check it out one of these sites before automatically sending it to your friends. Alternatively, simply delete the email.
Another one doing the rounds again at the moment is the royal mail/trading standards warning about receiving a card detailing a missed delivery and warning the contact number, if called, will defraud you of several hundred pounds. It has been disproven and, the scam it as based on, was shut down a good few years ago!
