Hello all..
Just a quick update for anyone under the same PCT/route as myself.
I attended the seminar 3 weeks ago & completed my 12 week Lighten Up programme last week.
I've just called Mr Woodcock's secretary (she told me to do this last month) and had a couple of surprises!!
Firstly I may be waiting a while for my one to one nurse specialist appointment. Lighten Up will write to Mr Woodcock who will check over my progress over the 12 weeks & decide if he will keep me on the programme (7lbs lost & attended 11/12 so chuffing well hope so!!).
The problem is Lighten Up have a backlog as over 100 people ended their courses at the same time. No priority is given to writing up bariatric cases even though then need letters for further hospital treatment so to summarise I have no idea how long it will take them to type up my progress/referral and post it on.
I was also told it was my decision if I wanted to chase this up with the Lighten Up team however she woulldn't recommend it as they're busy. Nice.
Secondly, they are issuing appointments now for August. Her point was it'll make no difference how soon they get my progress letter as I'll wait a while for an appointment. I personally thought August was marvellous. I was expecting December.
It would appear nothing is as simple as it first appears!!
Is anyone else having the same problems with Rake Lane??
xx
