I have just done the 4 months cooling off period.Now i got my second appointment next week wot will happen on this one?Then how long for surgery after this appointment.I'am with Walsall.Thanks Angie.x:jelous:

Hi Angie

After the appointment next week, Dr Hartland will eventually (takes a couple of weeks) pass your file over to admin who will apply for your funding - just a formality, dont worry.

Once admin hear back from your PCT about funding, you will go onto the waiting list which is about 20 weeks. Shortly after this you will recieve a letter with your two pre-op appointments.

At the second pre-op appt you should be given your date for surgery.

The routine for appointments and surgery don't always follow a pattern at Walsall Manor. Just try to keep on top of things, and if you don't hear anything for some time, just give them a call to see if there is any progress. Good Luck!

Flipping heck Sam! Another 20 weeks wait after our second appointments? No way will i be done n dusted within the six months Dr Hartland mentioned at my initial appt..........

On a brighter note i have my next appt Nov 27th and naughty puppy thinks my pct fund automatically so might not be so bad a wait...

my second appointment is next friday 6th november if i have to wait another 20 weeks that will be 12 months on the waiting list is this right only when i went in june he told me 6 months on the waiting list?? Hope i get op soon?Angie.x

Dr Hartland seems to tell everyone 6 months but there are very few people that are done in that time frame.

You dont go onto the waiting list until after this second appointment, and then yes, its 20 weeks from then. If your PCT fund automatically you will go onto waiting list as soon as admin get your file from Dr Hartland. This takes on average based on the stories weve seen here about 3 - 4 weeks from your 2nd appointment. Actually getting the funding only seems to delay things by a couple of days, as all the delays are at the Walsall end - not the PCT end.

I was done in 16 weeks so you might get lucky That was from seeing my Dr for referal to having my op
