Sounds like very sensible thinking to me chick. Happy your night was ok. Hospital doesn't have the he comforts. But when recovering, home can be difficult, especially with kids.

Glad you are drinking well too. That bodes well for the future :D

And fingers crossed, I woke up with the wind pain in my shoulders. So if you ain't got it, maybe they did a good job getting it out. As that was the worst pain I had xxx

Is shoulder pain always in the left side? I have some uncomfortable ness in my right shoulder but nothing awful. My wounds just under the bust are really sore! Still on oromorph. Just been for a walk on my Zimmer up and down the ward, I felt like a right old lady. Had my first cup of coffee. Got my liquids line out now, thankfully not weeping every hour any more. I am comfy once in a position it is just changing position that hurts. Because of my back I normally lie on my tummy, that is obviously not possible at the moment.

Not hungry at all, but can hear other people ordering and smelling food, strange to not be bothered by food anymore.

Proudly maintaining
Gas pain can be anywhere in the torso, either shoulder is common. Moving around is the best way to shift it, lifting your arms up and down etc x

The not being interested in food felt peculiar to me also :)

Hope you feel a bit more comfortable soon xxx

my new life!!
I too had the wind pain in the shoulder area,as mentioned moving around is best to ease it.
I also found wearing a soft bra was best to avoid rubbing on the wounds.

Well you sound like you are doing ok, its a familiar tale you are telling bout wounds and bit of shoulder pain, a weeks time you will feel totally different, the pain does disappear and the lying down and turning over becomes less painful. Pleased you on your way to a more healthy and happier life xx;)

Ok so I am feeling a little better, main issue I have is that my back is useless and it has made me realise how much my stomach muscles must have been working to make up for them. It hurts like anything to just sit up for more than a few minutes.

Gave in to the temptation of the scales 4 days in and I have lost 13lbs! Amazed!!! Now 15 st 7lb even with not being able to move round much!

Did start today, but just seen the time. Yesterday I was my first week after bypass. I am slowly beginning to feel more human. I definitely will not be going back to work next week. Supposed to be going to London for a prison visit - no way in the world I could do this now! So home for 1 more week which will hopefully let me get used to liquids more.

I am having 2 yoghurts, a small bowl of soup and then milky coffees, not milk with a little low fat choc powder and marvel added, nas squash. I now have times that I feel hungry but am amazed how little I eat to feel full now. Weirdly I have found myself looking at the McDonald's adverts or KFC adverts and thinking I could do with one of them! I don't even like that sort of food! Head is playing real games. Kids have a treat on a Friday after school and tonight they decided on getting chicken and chips. I then de boned the chicken for the little ones, plated the meals up and was so proud that not once did I attempt to nick a chip or take a bit of chicken. Before it would have just been normal to have a couple of chips with them. Was quite proud but it felt very strange.

I weighed today but forgot to do it until this evening, I normal try to weigh first thing. I have lost 14lbs this week. I am now below 100kgs which feels great and was a real shock until I looked it up. My BMW is 35 and really pleased with such a great start.

My main incision site is still quite painful but I am managing far better than I was. All dressings and sites are clean and there is only 2 or 3 PDF the sites that I think will scar, the other entries are tiny and really clean. Mr Sigurrdsson definitely did a good job. Bit surprised that I have not heard from the hospital group at all yet, not even a how are you doing call. Never even had mention a dietitian so it is a good job I have you lot to give me ideas! 2 more weeks of liquids, which I am finding ok so far, good job I like soup. Would love another good loss next week but not holding my breath!

Had a great day and did far more than I ever would have been before my op, although I did pay for it this evening and fell to sleep straight after, hence being awake now! We have been out to a local fun dog show and the children took our 3 dogs. Our frenchie got a rosette which they liked. Was so strange, took a picnic and thankfully I remembered to bring some milk and a yoghurt out with me. It seems so strange going out all day and eating so little.

Pain hit about 20 mins after coming back but I walked further than I have done for ages. Hope everyone else has been enjoying the sun?

Em, it was lovely in Gloucester for most of yesterday afternoon we were out from about 12-5 and it only went off cold once. Today is another matter, unfortunately. I am frozen through!

My wife said today that she is really surprised about where the weight has come off first. Apparently my neck to my chest has developed more shape. Told her she should be looking at my eyes not my chest more! Apparently it is where her eyes see straight ahead due to her height!

Quite liking my soups on the liquid phase, incredible how many flavours there are and I love how what I would have had for a mid pm snack is now a full meal. In fact, I would have had the tin rather than half! I have been blending them but allowing it to get a little more lumpyer and so far so good.

Church this morning and had the tiniest bit of communion bread and wine, so far, so good.

My wife was really against it to start with, she is not tiny herself, but always been able to manage her weight. We both went to see the consultant and she asked loads of questions and immediately felt at ease with mr sigurrdson. We had a free initial assessment with the hospital group which I would recommend doing even if you have no intention of going private as it gives you about 5hrs with wls specialists and gives great info.

Weighed today and am now 18.5 lbs down since op. have to keep checking that I am reading right. Can't believe that by the weekend I could be 14 stone something. That would have been a dream a month ago. One I was hoping for in the summer not so quickly.

Have had a really windy day! Also pouch has been feeling a bit sore. Tried really runny ready break this morning, definitely not ready for that! Soup and nas crusha are my saviours!

Right, I have had one of those weeks where I wasn't sure what was happening. The scales refused to move from 213lbs and I was wondering what I was doing wrong. I went back to work on Monday and have found it ok, but have found myself eating some non liquids. I am supposed to be on liquid until Friday - 3 weeks! I was getting light headed and feeling very weak and tired all the time.

Since I have been having a bit more to eat, but making sure I don't over do it and chew everything until it is purée, I have felt much better. I have also just weighed and I have lost another 5lb! For the first time in I don't know how long I am in the 14's again! 14st 12 to be exact. Very happy. I didn't loose anything on my pre op but lost 7kg from consultant to op, which I was quite pleased about seeing as it was only 6 weeks.

So far I have lost 40lb already! I really am amazed. 30lb since the op and it has only been 19 days!

Was a bit concerned because I am still getting quite a lot of pain at the incision sights on both sides below my ribs. Feels like they are coming open but today have looked and they are doing really well it is all so neat and tidy. Very happy this evening. Also not feeling as uncomfortable as I would normally in this heat. Not quite a bikini yet though! Lol
