February 2015 Surgeries

Thank you Kirsty. The jeans were holding the wobbly bits in! He he

A good not weight related achievement for me. Whilst warming up for my basketball game tonight , I realised I could a lot of the warm up postures I could not do before. It was simply there was less of me to bend, stretch and reach. Amazing!

Great isn't it? I ran, actually RAN the other night with my PT without feeling like my flabby bits were flapping about and my knees were about to explode. And off out tonight, can actually manage to paint my own toenails and will be wearing my daughters skinny jeans....:D

Well done Siana,
Click on advance when you are replying to text to upload photo. Or could the file be too large for the system to allow upload. Look forward to seeing your photos too - in your daughter's jeans!

I don't seem to be able to upload photos...

I can only do that via the app and not the browser.

HTH.

Great NSV, mind you a pedicure is one of life's little luxuries :)

Went royal ascot yesterday and it was the first year I actually got excited about my dress!

Lynne,
Your out fit looks gorgeous! Love your hat and my gosh, you look like a different person than last year's. You also look lovely last year but this year, your confidence shines through.
Simply stunning. Hope you had a good time.

Well met a goal today folks, I am officially overweight but not morbidly obese. My BMI has reduced from 41 to 30. I feel so much better. I have lost 4 stone and 2 pounds since my op on 23 Feb xxx

Great going Alison.....Not only have you come closer to your target, but have braved the initial hiccups post op. Really happy for you. Keep going

Pain is... Weakness leaving the body... Cheers and Regards... Kaps

You've done amazingly well Alison!
Are you all healed now?
I've got my appointment on 8th for review with surgeon.....need to decide what questions to ask.....know what I want to ask him but think he will leave the room and not talk!

Hi Siana,
I have similar experiences when trying on new clothes.
Feels amazing doesn't it! Xx

Hi Tules,
A new bra is great! First thing I bought and cos it fitted great I felt a million dollars wearing it when I left the shop.

Could you shop with a friend? Someone who will help you to try clothes on that perhaps you wouldn't normally try? Please be kind to yourself, you deserve it!
I found that in my head I am much bigger than I actually am. I'm trying on different styles of clothes just to see how things fit and feel.
Last week I really enjoyed going into shops just to try on and not to buy! I was amazed that I now fit in Next and Dorothy Perkins clothes! I'm now wearing a skirt to work - not worn one for 25 years! I even tried on a dress that looked nice too!
Keep at it hun

Hi

Not still not healed, have an appointment Monday with the Tissue Viability Nurse and Practice Nurse, the wound seems to be stuck and still having to dress it daily.

I have my review on the 12th so will be interested to see how you get on xx

On another note my hair started coming out about 4 weeks ago and doesn't seem to be stopping. It is worrying me now as I am really thin now at the front. Any tips ladies.

Regarding Hair Loss my dietician said yesterday to eat 4 Brazil nuts a day. i also use thick and strong head and shoulders, and I know this sounds minging but wash it as least as possible, use dry shampoo between washes

I have a client undergoing chemo who swears by protein shampoo she buys in Boots. She couldn't remember the name but it has a purple lid apparently, was going to Google later. I have maxed out my proteins in an attempt to stop it, haven't a clue if it's working. Now it's shorter I find it looks better when it's slightly dirty so I agree with the dry shampoo bit

Hi Alison,
Sorry to hear about your wound, I really hope the tissue viability nurse can help to heal it.
Have you any thoughts on what you're going to say or ask your surgeon when you have your appointment? Have you things you want answers to?

I've lost half the volume of my hair as like you, hair is falling out. It looks so thin and I'm really conscious of it! I spoke with specialist nurse at hospital who said its to be expected due to rapid weight loss and change in hormones since the surgery. She said a lot of people get it and no one has gone completely bald yet! Advises not to waste money on buying products that claim to treat it as they wont work and not to use chemicals on it. Mine needs colour and perm but have had it cut shorter for now.

Good luck with your appointments and well done with your weight loss! Xx
