Thanks hun x:D

It seems a bit easier today after putting clotrimazole on it last night. It has sunk in more with me losing weight so that's prob part of the problem;)

I actually have had the same problem with my belly button and the crease below my apron. I have been using creams for months to help and they do work once you have an irritation. However the powder does the trick as well. Make sure you tell your doctor when you see them next so it can be documented in your file, my GP is going to use that as a reason to request reconstructive surgery at a later date for me.;)

I was prescribed nystatin powder and clotrimazole cream to use. It is basically a yeast infection on the skin and is very common as a wls post-op. I was advised to use corn starch powder after showers but not talc, not sure why. Was told to use a hair dryer on my belly button and under my apron after showers. If you want an over the counter remedy then you can use yeast infection creams as they fight yeast.

Nic;)

Talc can irritate already sore skin but a caution is that fungal infections can feed on cornstarch powder which makes them worse. Cornstarch is good if the infection has cleared up as will keep the area dry without irritation. There is also a 'feminine' talc which is great for under aprons and in our tummy buttons, it is really gentle and mild.

i have been prescribed daktarin cream. i find the moment i dont use it my skin becomes irritated. My GP has just put it on repeat prescription for me so i dont need to go and see him. but he will have a record of each time i order it.
good luck

I use Lanacane 100% talc free medicated powder, as i get bad yeast infections under my tummy and boobs and also in my belly button, i put it on after my shower and by the morning its gone, i find its much better to use a powder as it dries it up, also u get immediate relief within bout 5 mins, mine get so bad it hurts to walk sometimes as it is so painful and weeps so i always have a bottle of this on hand.

Than ks everyone. It has nearly cleared already with clotrimazole, but I will go to docs so she can document it;)

I too am pre op and have had all these problems and have had all creams some including steroids and they clear it up. glad its better x
