Sleevers daily menu

Hi everyone.
I thought I'd start a thread for sleevers to put what they eat/drink in a typical day (sorry if there's already a thread like this!).
I thought it might help those who are waiting, as well as those who are just 'sleeved' and unsure of what is normal (I'm one of those)

So here goes......

Thanks for that Wonderlust (lovin' the name!!)

Thank you, it's been my web identy for quite a few years

Did it take you long after your sleeve op to get to this sort of menu?

I had 3 weeks of liquids and 3 weeks of Soft foods/Puréed foods before attempting normal foods, then it was a case of adding one new thing at a day to the menu.

I am eating fairly normally now, just very small portions.

I only eat with a teaspoon as I found myself eating too fast if I used a knife and fork , which leads to me feeling very uncomfortable.

The drinking started off as very difficult, but i can now drink normally and I am having no problems getting in the 2-3l a day, some days I am doing nearer 4!

Forgot to add, I have been having soup for lunch for years so I was lucky to find the post op diet a bit easier than some people.

Although I had a full tin every day along with 2 or three slices of bread and spread.

Well done on your weight loss!

Thank you.

I guess when you've 20 stone to lose it comes off easier and quicker than if you've only got lower amounts

Grapes as a snack.

I always have trouble with meat. I chew & chew & eat slowly but still get pain. I did have an intolerance to meat pre op but it wasn't like this. More arthritic pain & generally feeling of being unwell. Post op I just can't seem to be able to manage it. I try to reintroduce it to my diet for the excellent protein value vs small amount needed but still not being successful. The mince was so finely minced & my Italian friend made it for us last night. I felt bad all night. Think I just have to give up for a while & just have fih & vegetarian protein. I am seeing my dietician on 16th so will discuss.
