Hey Gillabean and CCPM - get your backsides in here!

Just set this up following a post on Gilla's "help" thread. Thought we could use this to keep reporting our progress, targets - the good and bad days etc.

We can also use this to congratulate and/or kick each other as need be.

We've all made a great start so far, so lets keep up the great work ladies. Its great having someone alongside me thats as keen as I am to make this final push and shift the last of the lard.

Thanks Doritos, this is exactly what I need, a boot up the bum and lovely people to go on the journey with!

My problem was never really over-eating, it was seemingly intentionally choosing the wrong foods. I secretly felt that I had a death wish as I would choose the high fat/high sugar option even though I might not like it. Now that I am nearly at goal I found I was going back to those stupid choices! The photo by the cake bin was such a brilliant idea, Asda blew the photo up into it's glorious red-faced, sweaty, blobby best and if that doesn't make me stick to sensible choices then I don't know what will.

Good wishes to you both for today, all for one and one for all!

:gen126:We're rooting for you all and looking to you for some more fabulous inspiration! Show us how it's done ladies xxx:happy096:

Thanks for your support ladies, and please feel free to kick me up the bum if you can see me flagging.

See Gilla, I too had the problem of making bad food choices, which coupled with my overeating was a recipe for disaster. Since making the pact with M to get this final bit off I have made much better choices.

I did have a small glass of wine last night at the end of a stressful day, but felt I had earned it, and even with that my calories would have been very low yesterday - maybe too low.

Today someone bought cakes into work as it was their birthday and I managed to find the willpower to say no. Have also been making more effort to drink water/NAS squash as my normal fluid intake is almost exclusively coffee.

I will get to thinville if its the last thing I do!

I want to join in!:wave_cry: I've now had my longest stall since the start of my weightloss journey. I was over the moon when i lost 10 stone just in time for my 1 year surgervesary which was may 13th. Since reaching this i havent lost a pound in the last 5 weeks(punishment or what)!!!!!!:cry:I'm not sure whether it is just a stall or it's what i'm eating which ever it is i really want to get the scales moving again as i really dont want my weightloss to end at 12.2. It'll really help if were all there for eachother and post what we've eaten as Sam says good or bad!

yay, welcome along Lisa. The 4 musketeers it is then...

So what have you had today?

Hello ladies, Just letting you know that I'm lurking here hoping to pick up a few pointers. I've hovered about the same weight for weeks and would really like to shift a bit more. I too tend to nibble on things I shouldn't which then means I'm not hungry enough to eat an evening meal. All very silly really but we wouldn't be here if we didn't have a history of being silly around food.

Good luck ladies. xx

Thanks John. Feel free to join us if you need any encouragement, or just to chip in and give us lot a kick or whatever is necessary.

Thanks for your support. x

Please someone tell me why I shouldnt have a glass of wine! Theres an open bottle in the fridge, and I would love a glass.

  • If you really want an excuse not to have that wine - it is empty calories, beside any effect it may have on your mood it will contribute nothing to your health and well being, you could use those calories more wisely.
  • If you really actually want someone to say this then ok...oh go on, one wont hurt, why shouldnt you!?
I would personally plump for the first one if it were me xx
Steph xx

lol Steph. Thanks hun. I'll take your first answer!

Nope no wine tonight we don't drink on week nights we save that for a planned weekend treat...saintly or what!!!!!!

Here I am last to the party as usual. How lovely to have our own thread. Today has been another eating out day and once again it was not too bad but not what I would have had at home. So lets get that recorded first:

Choc fudge Protein shake with 1 litre water
Scampi and chips (about 1/2 portion), treacle sponge and custard (1/2)
Diet coke
Choc Fudge protein drink with 1 litre of water
3 x Ryvitas with lite spread and NAS strawberry jam
Strawberries and blueberries with natural yoghurt, lemon juice and splenda
Probably have another shake later

So thats the end of my socialising for some time unless someone knows something I don't. I can get my head down and really concentrate.

Its almost 2 weeks of the changes now for me and they have really been just to concentrate on healthy eating. I haven't really got back to food logging yet but already I feel some elements of control and planning coming back in and feel better for it. Hopefully there may be another small loss on the scales this week. I would love it if I can carry on like this and just lose that pound er week which will get me to 11st 1lbs before my op. Still not quite a healthy weight but getting very close.

Good luck everyone and Lisa welcome on board

M

Start date 6/06/10 - Weight loss so far 2lbs

Evening M, last to the party and denying me wine... some party this is lol

I'm always impressed by your protein intake. Ive never liked the protein shakes myself though.. DO you prefer them made with milk or water? And how many calories are in each serving? I know we shouldnt count cals, and as a rule I dont - just every now and then to make sure Im not a million miles off track.

No protein in treacle sponge though M, tut tut lol!

Well done on the 2lb. My start weight was 13 stone dead on Saturday 12th, although the "restart" didnt really commence for me until Monday 14th.

Ive every faith that you will get to that 11st 11 target by op date, and just think that with the excess skin gone that will put you firmly in the normal category.

perhaps I should post my intake for the day.

Brekkie - special K and skimmed milk
Lunch - 1/2 a chicken, bacon and avocado sandwich on wholemeal bread.
Dinner - Poached salmon (my fave), about 4oz in a tarragon sauce from M&S. Its 380 cals per serving, but I prob had 3/4 of a serving with 2 jersey royal potatoes.

Gonna have some strawberries in a bit.
Have had a tonne of coffee during the day - as per usual.
Only 2 glasses of water.
No wine up until yet. Holding strong for now. Will have another coffee in a mo.

Thanks M!

Sam-LEAVE THE WINE ALONE!!!!!!!!! How orrible am i! after such a nice welcome as well!!

Brekkie- skinny latte

Lunch- grated carrot, grated cheese, sultanas, spring onion and a little salad cream light just to mix it all together

Dinner- 6 oven chips, baked beans and half a chicken breast

Now- sucking on cheese doritos! (this does help me get my fluids in)!!!

Later- skinny latte

Sorry I'm late girls, did you start without me? Good. Just got in from work so sitting down with a diet coke. M, I am very impressed with the protein shakes, I'm afraid they make me gag so I don't have them. Treacle sponge!!!! oh dear, oh dear, oh dear

Sam that looks like a good day's intake to me, fantastic.

Lisa, is that enough food for an entire day? I'd be dead on my feet if that was all I ate, I find I have to eat something every 3 hours or so. I read in my son's Men's Health magazine that we should eat every 2-3 hours to keep up our metabolic rate.

Today I have been mostly eating:

Breakfast - 1 slice wholemeal toast with mashed banana
snack - 2 crackers with cheddar cheese, 2 plums
lunch - pasta with pesto
Dinner - fresh tuna with sliced juicy tomatoes
sweeties? - 1 ginger biscuit, 2 werthers originals

How good am I then? 'Very good' is the answer. It's so much easier when I'm at work and away from temptation. However, looking at it I don't think I'm having enough protein; just the cheese and the tuna.

Very good indeed Gill. Your food looks yum for yesterday. Ive never really counted protein or calories really. Just made sure I have "some" protein every day. If you wanted to add more you could swap the biccies for a handful or nuts, or add a scrape of peanut butter to your morning toast. Just a suggestion.

I need to be extra good during the day today as am going to TGI Fridays tonight for someones leaving do at work, and no doubt there will be no healthy options. Race for life tomorrow though, so can burn off tomorrow whatever I have today.

Gillibean- i try not to snack in between meals as this has ALWAYS been my downful when on diets! I'm trying to train my brain into not thinking about food until meals times. I usually have alpen for brekkie but was having a late spring clean in my bedroom yesterday morning so just had a latte. My meals i have are quite big portions really (normal size) perhaps this is because i dont snack during the day but my doritos(licking only) are a god send!

Sam-Have a great time tonight and best of luck for tomorrow, i'm doing it next month so i must remember to use the same excuse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All going well with everyone so thats a great start.

Protein shakes: I use Dynmatize chocolate fudge - 1 scoop is 20g protein and 105 cals, nio carbs. I have a tesco smoothie maker which has a 1 litre jug. I chill the water in there in the fridge ready then add 1 scoop powder, 2 teaspoons decaff coffee granules and 14 sweetners (I know I know how many??????) and wizz it up. Its a sweet choc drink and if I have 2 that's my fluids sorted and 40g protein without thinking about it anymore. Sometimes I may have a banana or strawberry one made with 1/2 pt milk and rest chilled water. All I can say is it suits me and I like the taste and everything. One does me until lunchtime most days just because I loathe cereals and can't be arsed most days to get anything else. Sometimes cook scrambled eggs at work but not often.

I've planned my meals out for today and counted it all up. Had to make some major adjustments to get under 1200 cals. I have started adding back spuds as I find they help fill me up but carbs risen dramatically as a result. I'll see how it goes for a while as I am enjoying them but can make more changes if needed.

Backlater to check on everyone

Good luck

M
