February 2015 Surgeries

Hi Siana,
Can I ask you about protein shakes - what do you mean? Like slim fasts?

Hi Jackie,
I have the same worry and as I'm losing so much, a lot is off my chest so I am finding that I'm more droopy, to put it nicely, lol!
I had considered having breast surgery later but I won't need to as the bra really lifts and separates. I felt a million dollars when I bought it and left the shop wearing said bra!
They can be a bit pricey but the one I got was £39 which is a lot but when you consider that she advised that it will last me a year, so on that basis its worth it.
Let me know how you get on when you go. Good luck xx

I will do. I am only day 2 post op so hopefully will be a while yet. Still a worry though! Was it the Consett shop you went to? xx

Hi Chrissy, Thank you! The shop I went to is called 'Sadie' but she's known as Sadie the bra lady. I was amazed that I went in, told her I'd lost a lot of weight and was still losing, she showed me to a cubicle and asked me to take off my top. No measuring at all.......she went out and came back with a bra and helped me into it. It was an amazing fit and on the tightest fastening, so she went down a size so that it would be more adjustable as I lose more and would last for a while. I was going to buy a few but she advised only one and to hand wash at night and hang to dry as it would be a waste of my money buying more. It's an underwire which I've never gotten on with, she advised that's because they don't fit you right if they dig in and feel uncomfortable. At first it felt a bit like I was wearing a corset but thing I've lost more now and feels sooo comfy. I felt great after the fitting and it makes new clothes look better. I whole heartedly recommend Sadie. Just wish there was a shop nearer home! Can't wait to shop for more! I'm finding I'm looking at clothes more and wanting to go shopping to try them on! Feels like a kid in a sweet shop! #enjoyingthenewme!

I am a big fan of underwired bras have worn nothing else since I was in my 20's, so quite some time then ;)
There are some very pretty cheaper ones about but for a good fit you do need to go for the better made ones IMO. Bonus is they also don't have the wires popping out and trying to impale your boobs lol. The trick I use is, once you have had a proper measuring and find a make you like ( Fantasie/ Fauve/Freya are my favs) I then buy them off ebay. New with tags I usually pay between £14 and £20 so not so shabby a saving. I am a bit lazy and put mine on a wool wash but I must try and do the hand wash thing, I do for my hand knits.

Enjoy the clothes shopping :) with summer almost here the choice will be fantastic and the weight loss means you'll look fantastic :)

Hi Siana,
Can I ask you about protein shakes - what do you mean? Like slim fasts?

No, not slim fast as they are not that good. I use whey isolate products like body builders use. The one I like is Syntrax because it's more like a squash than a shake, I have pink grapefruit and a lemonade one. 20g protein per serving, I whizz it up with fruit and berries too for an extra boost, sometimes add green tea. If I have one of thes, plus an arla high protein yoghurt per day (usually breakfast) that's 40g protein before I even eat anything

I spoke with specialist nurse at the hospital, she advised that hair loss is inevitable due to the change in hormones and rapid weight loss. I also wonder for me, if it has to do with being so poorly and all the drugs I was on in hospital etc.
She advised not to buy hair products for hair loss as they wont work. She said there's nothing I can do and that it will pass.
So can't have a colour or perm tomorrow. My hair is currently permed brown/greying Bob. So can't cover my grey and it's looking so thin. Having a cut tomorrow and will see what hairdresser advises, whether to go for short style or shorter Bob!

I have discovered a tresemme hairspray that makes mine look a lot thicker and doesn't make it do that awful floppy thing as the day goes on. It's allied Runway Collection, Max the Volume

Does it leave a shine Siana?

Hi Jackie,
It was the guisborough shop.
It is very early days for you in terms of your surgery. Hope you are feeling ok.
You will lose a lot of weight quickly. Time will fly and before you know it you will be taking that 5 minute walk to Sadies!
Hope you're recovering well xx

Thanks Chrissy, that's a good tip, hadnt thought of that! Although my size will be changing so may only be able to do that when my weight has stabilised. My back is smaller and I would imagine my cup size will go down too. Good idea about finding favourite manufacturers and keeping with their bras.

Well I have only gone and done it now, went to hairdressers this morning, she's an old mate and told me bluntly that my hair was so thin on one side that in her opinion it all needed to come off. So I now have a crop, and its a bit of a shock - not least because I now discover that I have cheekbones and a face that looks remarkably thinner than before...

Oh Siana that is very exciting. I had the Chop Before my op after years of a bob and I love it. image-2097034895.jpg

Wow, sounds fantastic. Well done. :)

Hi Siana,

New you, new hair style! Have you any photos?
I had mine cut into a shorter Bob but it was permed so there's still some curl left in it.
