Fuffs Fun Frolics on WLS journey

Welcome to the bench Sophie! I'm so glad things went well! Things get easier all the time. Just enjoy every step and know you are changing every day. I have not regretted even one second (even after having a stricture!) I hope to hear more about your journey!

Thank you everyone xxxx

My wind wasnt coming out the bum. So was sent for an X-ray to check for a blockage. Was just told it was clear :D

Woke up feeling a hell of a lot better. Last night I was sobbing in pain. But feel sooo much better now :)

Much love to you all xxx

How can anyone look so good after having fairly major surgery, in pain and with tubes up your nose! You are such a beautiful lady, inside and out. I am so pleased the op went well and I really hope that they manage to work out the difficulties you are having! Now get some sleep! Lol

You are so lovely to me. Thank you. You really have made me smile :)

Well, had an X-ray late last night to see if I had blocks. Lying down on the X-ray table made my hernia pop out properly. That meant I was able to massage it in. A lot of pain died down after that.

I went to sleep and went to the bathroom in the night. And managed to....pass wind!!! Lol

Yay!!!

Today my incisions are sore and got some shoulder tip pain. But nothing like yesterday. So I think I am in the mend xxx

glad you're feeling better soph :) xxx

Hope they're treating you right. *hugs*

It's the worst ward ever for treatment. But I have one of my friends with me who had her bypass yesterday. So we are keeping each other perked up. The staff on here have no clue about manners, bariatrics, care or anything. It's quite horrible xxx

Sorry to hear the staff are poo but glad your feeling better. Just get over the next few days and once home you can get spoiled and pampered and you will feel better in no time. Thinking of you x

Thanks Melanie xxx

The surgeon has just been to see me and us very happy with my progress. He said I should be able to start my post op diet tomorrow :)

I feel so happy again today. So happy I am on the losers bench now :)

Its hard when you feel like staff aren't very good at their job, I have to say I didn't have that problem at SRH they worked very hard and were good with all patients even the more demanding ones, I am stubborn and like to do things for myself. I was up at the toilet on the teatime and had just come back from theatre at 1pm I was getting my gown off and putting my nighty on when the surgeon came to see me he was amazed at how well i looked and said there was no need to ask how i felt, the nurses had to do very little for me and I helped others on the ward do some bits the nurses would have been called todo. It was a pleasant experience for me think i was blessed with my care team. xx Pleased you feelign lot better be home soon xx

I was also up not long after my op. Changed into my own nightie and went toilet. Felt good. Walked up and down the ward most of yesterday. The surgeon told me I looked good yesterday even when I felt like rubbish lol

I think if I was on the bariatric ward it would be different. But Heartlands are doing 2 extra days a week now with bypasses, so the ward space is limited.

Some of the staff have been lovely.

Even with pain and some staff hassle, I am happy I did this and would do it again in a heartbeat :D

Glad everything went well and you're feeling good

You look amazing, I don't look that good going on a night out!

Get well soon you, although in reality the operation is your road to recovery.... Does that make sense?
