I cannot seem to curb my eating and feeling really crap about it!!! But I don't feel I even have anyone to talk to about it :-(((

You've got all of us! Have u tried just doing some small changes first. Like if on average you have say 4 slices of bread cut it down to 2. Or if you have like a lot of lattes cut it down to one or two something like tht? Just thinking of small changes you can make which will make significant differences in your calorie intake x

I have been a smoker all my life and have always wanted to give up..... and sometimes managed for 2-3 months at a time before finally going back to the fags. Last year i had to give up for good in preparation for the op........... it was the hardest thing i had ever done....... i pondered why this was and came to the conclusion it was because someone was telling me i 'had to'
So i have this theory it may not be right, and you may disagree BUT for most of us who end up on the books of the NHS for weight loss surgery, its last resort..... we've tried everything in the book every pill and every fad. our body's have started to shout back at us with various other illnesses to add to the load. Certainly for me it was last chance hotel...... i so wanted to be well, was fed up with feeling ill all of the time, sick to death of being housebound etc So WLS was my last hope of getting back some sort of normal life, BUT the only thing which was lacking was the real drive and desire to change....... I had gotten into a huge hole and couldn't see how i was ever going to get out, but i knew i had to change or i certainly wouldn't see a ripe old age.
Sorry there is a kind of point to my long winded post LOL
For me the journey waiting for surgery was a godsend. almost 3 years in total....... some feel its a long time, but i feel it was time very well spent preparing myself for this life change, and for that i am truly thankful now, although at the time it felt like a never ending journey of unachievable goals BUT (and here's the point)
Right now you may not feel able to help yourself, you may well be in that huge hole i was in once too........ The NHS is a long winded process but they are there to help prepare you for your new life. They will teach you what sorts of food to eat or avoid, making better choices, how to contend with cravings, teaching distraction techniques, goal setting and achieving them goals. The dietician will help with diet, I also had assessment with leap active (to help with exercise) and the psychologist will help with any issues as to why you are the way you are......
So right now i know you must be feeling very lost and alone and completely bewildered BUT help is on its way :) pick up the phone a see if you can find out what the next step is for you and ask whats next....... in the meantime we are all here to listen offer advise or long winded pointless post LOL (oops) keep your chin up, you can and will win thru :) keep listing your intake and try and make healthier choices, Get back to your GP to see if there is any help there. Im just under going some counseling, it helps me sort things in my head and make sense of things.

For now i send a huge hug x x x x and hope this helps even in the slightest x x x x
