Slimpip's Sleeve Jan'14

Aww wonderful it's truly magical the first time you hear babies heartbeat! Gutted your still feelin crappy tho maybe this is just gonna be your personal side effect of pregnancy x sounds like how I am when my Bp drops down low. Is ur Bp low?? X x

Not when they measure it hun, but they say that that is very common, it will show a bit after they test it? I dunno, they seem to talk out of their arses haha.

Morning sickness has made an unwelcome return today...joy. I hate being sick with a passion. At least I kept my tablets down :)

Come on scan...1 week and 3 days to go...its dragging soooo bad! x

Hi slimpip, I'm from telford/shropshire and was just wondering how your process went from seeing the consultant to the day of your op, did you have to see the physiologist? Well done on the weight loss you look amazing.

Menasher thanks very much, do you mean psychologist? The process went like this:

1. Asked gp to send referral.
2. Had an appointment with a community psych nurse at my surgery, basically asking me why I want the surgery and had I thought about what my life would be like afterwards etc.
3. Heard nothing for months, then a letter came through the post for a consultation at Telford Hospital (although all is now being done at Shrewsbury I believe).
4. Attended that, was there for 20mins or so, the surgeon, specialist nurse and dietrician were all there and explained the surgery to me. Booked in for surgery about 4 months later.
5. Had the group session at Shrewsbury, where they fully explained the process of the surgery and aftercare.
6. Had a letter through the post to say they'd rescheduled my surgery and it was now earlier than before, and all of the pre-op diet info and date for a pre op assessment.
7. Attended pre-op 1 week before surgery.
8. Surgery.

Does that cover everything you wanted to know hun? What surgery are you hoping for and what stage are you at? XX

Many thanks for the reply slimpip, yes i meant psychologist lol! I went to see the consultant in september 2014, who said he was happy to do the surgery for me, either the sleeve or bypass. I was still under the bariactrics team as I had my band removed in june 2014 (privately paid for and done in belguim) since then I have been to the seminar jan 2015 and was told to start taking multi vitamins and loose 5% of my weight, I wasn't weighed, this was told to the whole group! I have sent back all the paper work. That's it? Just waiting for the next appointment which is killing me as I have a long wait, this won't be till March/April.

Ah that sucks it's taking ages. I think in all honesty I must've just caught them at the right time where not many candidates from Herefordshire had been put forward for the surgery, as they have quotas to fill etc. I hope the whole process doesn't take too long for you!!

Cupid...not great still. Just been signed off for another week, taking it 1 week at a time now. She said it could potentially last until 16 weeks!!! Urgh I hope not, work are not going to be happy when I pop down to see them tomorrow, if I feel up to it that is!

XXX

Aww thanks Cupid. Been feeling a bit better the last few days as it goes, then today has been horrendous. So hoping this means the constant misery is waining and being replaced by part time misery, which is a marked improvement.

My scan is on Thursday...I cannot wait. I'm walking up to meet my mum at her office after because she literally can't wait any longer to tell people, she's so excited haha. Then I have a meeting at work about returning the day after (Friday). I'm not excited about that at all! I have to go back sometime, I can't be off indefinitely so I will give it a go, it's all I can do!

Hope everyone else is doing ok, most definitely my bed time. Night xxx

OMG just realised I totally skipped by my 1 year surgiversary. It was on Jan 29th. Eeeek, what a year, I wouldn't change a thing, it's been truly life changing in every way :) xxx

Happy first anniversary hunni..... what a year its been ehhhh.... lost a lot an gained a lot too lol gl at your scan..... hope you feel brighter real soon x x x

Wowee happy anniversary Hun! I'm glad that the poop days seem to be shifting a little for you now! What a year indeed. I bet none of us here expected to be where we are now a year ago! X x

I definitely didn't start this journey with this end result in mind! lol
Congrats on the year Friend! The next one holds even more stuff! :)

Thanks ladies. You have been the best support system I could have asked for. It's scan day tomorrow and I'm so excited, don't think I'll sleep much tonight haha :) x

Here's the scan picture :) he/she was an angel. We got there 45 mins early so I could sit there and drink the 1.5pints they wanted me to. My bum had barely touched the chair before I was called in!! I said, oh but my bladder is totally empty, she said not to worry we'll try it and see how we go. As soon as the wand touched my belly, there was my little gem presenting itself just perfectly. He/she was lying in the correct position, wriggling around, heart beating nicely, waving at mummy and daddy and kicking me in the tummy lol.

I'm so in love and can't wait to find out the gender in a few short weeks.

I go back to work tomorrow. Wish me luck :) xxx
