1st Day of my pre-op diet

Sooooooo there's been a big change of plan! I've chnaged my surgery provider, the date's gone back by a few months and I'm off the pre-op diet.

It's all because I've opted for the fobi ring with my sleeve and the current provider does not offer them.

Little bit gutted that it's all been moved back just as I'd finally screwed up the courage to have it done BUT I am totally happy to be having the best surgery for me :)

Ho Hum

Totally understand, Kim.

If you are in the position to be able to pay privately, pay for the op you really want (even if you only just found out about it !!).

I was fortunate in being offered NHS funding (with BMI above 50 and lots of co-morbidities) but that NHS funding only gave me *one* op ...... and altho I did enquire with my own surgeon (Mr Sufi) if he offered the fobi ring (and a few other things I had read about !!!) ...... the answer was "no" to all the alternative "fancy pants" versions I had read about. The NHS only offers the basic version of the band, bypass or sleeve, so I had to accept my choice from what was on offer.

Thanks Sharon :)

Much as I am dissapointed, I know that weighing that with the fact I can now have the op that I want (and need) makes me feel better.

All well that ends well......... I hope haha :)

Well, the meeting went amazingly well :)
The amount of info I was given was quite daunting at first but I'm so glad I've had all my questions answered (even the ones I didn't know I should have asked) and all the avenues explored.
It's all been moved back till the 23rd of May but the wait is totally worthwhile as now feel I'm having exactly the right procedure for me.

Not looking forward to starting the pre-op diet again though!!! haha

Good luck and I'm glad everything went well today xxx keep up the good work

Pleased you have got sorted and getting what you really want. I found the low cal pre op ok, loads easier than lighter life waste of time and money that I did for 6 months. Looking forward to hearing from you in May.

Right, here we go :)

Just got back from a lovely week in Egypt and am ready to start my pre-op diet (again, ho hum) on monday.

The usual mix of excitement, doubt, nerves and looking forward to the end result.

Wish me luck! x

I'm starting my pre op diet tomorrow as well! Good luck :)

I get my balloon tomorrow so start my fast today. I can eat clear soup though, what's clear soup I ask you lol??!!? Nervous but excited!!good luck girls

Grrrrrrr, feeling very sorry for myself today. Cracked a tooth so had to go to the emergency dentist which cost an arm and a leg :( .

Can't have the surgery with a loose tooth but apparently the tooth is going to be hard to remove because of the way it has grown, so I have to see a specialist tomorrow to have it whipped out.

Oh, and it has to be done privately as it is urgent so it's going to cost the other arm and leg.

Rant over hahaha. Feel better already! :)

Day 2 now and I seem to go from not feeling hungry to I could eat a bloody horse!!! All in the space of 1 hour.

I'm sure things will settle down soon enough :)

Hiya, I am day too and I know that feeling, I could seriously eat my slippers at this moment in time, been so good and don't want to fail but gosh this is hard!!!

Hope it gets better for us tomorrow!

ems :(

By the time you have all that done and have paid for your private bariatric surgery you won't have any limbs left, Kim !!! :) :) :)

All done! yipppeeeeeeee.
Was in quite a bit of pain yesterday..... but it did take my mind off the milk diet haha.

Woke up this morning feeling a little bruised and battered but don't feel hungry AT ALL.

Now I've realised it's 6 days till my surgery and am starting to feel excited.......now I just have to work out what I have left to sell to pay for the bloody thing . Maybe a kidney :p

Woozy is my word of the day! That's how I feel, not hungry, not scared, not impatient just woozy.

Thursday cannot come around quick enough.

Must go and drink some water as I'm sure that's been slipping th last few days.

Good luck everyone on pre-op at the moment x

How you getting on with the pre op? Hope you feel less woozy soon x
