I love that turkey smilie! I used to do that with rotisserie chicken or a rib roast of beef - all that would be left on the plate would be a bone and a smudge of grease!

Not everyone can gain weight on slimfast and soup - it's a specialist skill. Yay us!:D

I'm a bypasser. Slimfast and all similar shakes are banned substances by my provider (inc on the liquid stage immediately post op). Too easy to consume I guess ... I am pushed towards solid proteins - so (being veggie) I'm eating a lot of Quorn. Not that happy about it, but it is for medical reasons, not gastronomic ones!

I guess that, being so very high in sugar, they'd probably make you dump after a bypass. I'm not over-keen on them, but given a choice between a shake or cold soup for my lunch lol!

Lol Ive always joked i only have to look at a glass of water & i put on weight!

Hows it feeling now your 2nd fill has had time to settle, any different? I know im only one fill in (6ml in 14ml band) but feels like i am eating less than before, always a good thing :)

I also dont think im getting enough protein in , always meant to try Quorn so will buy some today & make a spag-bol for tonights meal. Thanks for tip to LilacGlittergirl!

Hope you have a good weekend Sarah x

Well I'm on mushies today so I've not noticed a vast difference so far. I'm not expecting much yet, so if there is any change it will be a welcome bonus!
6ml is quite a lot, did you have some put in during the op? I had nothing during the op, 4ml first fill and 2.5ml second fill.

Right now it's all a huge novelty, so not having restriction isn't a big issue. I'm hoping that restriction will kick in before the novelty wears off.

Protein is an issue, but I try to make the best choices I can, plenty of fish, plenty of chicken, low fat cheese etc. My hair is thinning, but it's normally so thick that it's not noticeable to anyone else.

I'm so excited at the moment. I received some really nice compliments last night and this morning, and I'm really looking forward to a night out tonight. Hope you're having a great weekend:) x

Yes, I was told Mr Richardson put 5ml in during the Op but at first fill nurse took it out and only found 4ml, she then topped up with another 2ml. My bet is I will end up with a pretty full band, I think my stomach has been stretched to the max over years of over-eating :(

I know what you mean about it being a novelty, first few weeks were great, no hunger, yay! It has come back a bit but much reduced which will do just fine for now. Im also trying to up my protein intake, dont like fish much but saw a recipe Franky posted [Monkfish] which actually looks pretty yumm so may well try it!

Congratulations on the compliments girl! You have lost quite a bit already havent you? Always good to get feedback that makes it all worthwhile!

Have a great evening out tonight & as i always say to my lads, be good.. & if you cant be good be careful! xx :D

Thankyou ladies!

Great that you're feeling some difference already Jo, that has to be a good sign:)

No meal for me tonight but I'll be meeting everyone a bit later on. Just need to dust off my dancing shoes!
:D

I thought it was " if you can' the good, be good at it "

If you can't be a good example, be a dire warning:D

Excellent night, but I can't recommend drinking while on mushies - far more hammered than what I've drunk should make me. Seemed like a good idea at the time!

1lb off this week, one pound away from a 4 stone loss. Hurrah! I've been baking this morning for my dad, so I have a bag of goodies to hand over. I was tempted to keep a couple of scones, but if I kept them I'd only eat them, and right at this second I'd rather lose another pound than scoff a scone:)

So glad to be back on solid foods. Never has a bowl of bran flakes been more welcome!

I am feeling a smidge hormonal. I've now been on my period since July, but haven't felt PMS-ish as yet. I did burst into tears at little house on the prairie this morning though. In fairness, they had a tornado and Pa wanted to leave Walnut Grove, just as Mary was falling in love with the oldest adopted son of the Edwardses. It was all very moving, and I don't have a heart of stone.

Don't panic, Pa changed his mind.

Firstly, well done on that hard-earned pound. Secondly, FOUR STONE? That's goddamn bloody brilliant, many congrats to you :talk017::scale::happy096::clap::worthy::0clapper::woohoo:

(hehehe I love all these smilies)

And finally, crying at Little House on the Prairie!?? Have a word with yourself woman lol

Just had to turn it off. Johnny Cash was helping Alicia bury her dead puppy and it all got too much for me.

For goodness sake people, there is no shame in loving a bit of Laura Ingles  Now if it was Highway to Heaven then yeah, fire away but leave the prairie loving folk & their handmade pinnies alone!

Sarah, Well done on nearly 4 stone lovely! xx

Lol, my love of the prairie tales isn't something I'm proud of... Could be worse though, on Saturday the same channel shows back to back episodes of The Waltons.

G'night John-boy...
