good luck and i had the low cal carb/fat one about 800 cals a day but at least i could vary what i ate rather then just the milk :) take care

well i've already seen that you've now got a date :) so after reading this i'm very pleased for you x good luck with everything and to your partner too :)

Congrats x

Sent from my GT-I9000 using WLSurgery

Really pleased for you. Wendy

thanks for all the support i am going to do the slimfast diet, as i dont think that the food diet would be easy to keep to and the milk diet just doesnt seem like something i could cope with, oh well new life starts here

question for those who know

Ok so at my first appt. at homerton i had to see the nurse specialist, have a group session and see a consultant, now i have a surgery date and they say i have to go back for a pre op assessment and another group session, is it normal to have 2 group sessions as the one i had already was death by powerpoint she basically read it of the screen and was very vague, i am hoping that this new one is different and a little more inciteful ?????

Yes I had a pre op group session that was different to my first group session. The second one went into the op more, the different stages of eating, what to eat & when, & recovery post op. we had a physiotherapy session where we were told about what we need to do immediately post op & whilst in hospital then about the sessions & PACE classes after we have left hospital. Hope that helps.

thankyou that helps alot :)

this is good to know i am wondering wether its all real at the moment as i have chased them most of the way and got my date that way, i dont even not the status of funding although they must have it or i wouldnt have a date lol, its frighteneing really as i know the scale of operation that we have, it holds many risks and can potentially be fatal and because of my job i feel a little too aware of it all, but i am not letting it stop me, as i need this so bad

It's not an easy option but you get so much support U won't regret it. I haven't. Sooo good yesterday buying lovely new clothes that are nice & fitted not the usually baggy tents LOL..

Finally all informed

:D:Di am now assured that because i am in east of england PCT, that mearly the fact that i meet the referall criteria is an assurance of funding, and if the surgeon agrees then funding is granted pretty much instant, therefore i definately have my funding and my date is definately the 18th june. yet still in my head i cant believe that i am so close, am i alone in this, or is it common to doubt that the fight could finally be over. at least after stopping i can now start my pre op diet once more.

its so nice to see others stories and its equally as gratifying to know that it can work and it can be successful, i am very glad i found this sit as it has inspired me to tell my story and i am currently making a video diary so that i can help others and give them hope that it is achievable if you keep at it, i will keep everyone posted on my journey, thanks to all those that have been so supportive so far:):)
